When does Shin Godzilla come out on DVD/BluRay?

I always felt a one day only release would not be enough in the UK. I hope as many fans as possible get t see it, God willing. Seeing Shin Godzilla here in the theater was one of the best experiences I've had as a fan. Even with the Blu-ray/DVD release, I would love to see it again in a theater.

My girlfriend and I had to drive 60 miles to see Shin Gojira in theaters. It was the closest theater showing it on the last day it was in theaters. We missed the first 3 mins. That was it. Through out my life I have only seen a number a Godzilla movies on the big screen. I have seen Godzilla(1998) like 3 times with its original release and then Rifftrax did a live event featuring that movie so I saw it again, ,Godzilla 2000 once in theaters and once at a drive in. Godzilla(2014) in 3D, and now Shin Gojira. Shin Gojira was the only original Japanese version of a Godzilla film that I saw in theaters. Im sure Godzilla 2000 was edited and it was English dubbed.

Sony's cut of Godzilla 2000 does in fact have a few differences compared to the Japanese cut, the most notable being different music during key scenes.

Well I have not seen the original version of G:2000. Still saw my first Japanese Godzilla movie tho. Pretty sweet at age 13! I read the "Official Compendium" by that age and I thought Godzilla movies where done, finished.

Godzilla vs Destroyah was definitely a movie that I thought would end that franchise.  Then Godzilla (1998) came out, super stoked! Saw that at 11 and thought this is huge! Then I realized after G:2000 that it wasn't over! And now age 30 I can still see new and amazing Godzilla movies with my daughter! very awesome time to be a G fan.

Toho never really was going to end the series with Godzilla vs. Destoroyah. Their plan was to reboot the series in 2005. But after the 1998 flick was received so poorly there was a demand for the real Godzilla. So Toho accelerated their initial plan, while claiming they "always" intended for a Japanese and American Godzilla series to run at the same time. Uh-huh...

Well at that age I didn't have the internet to use to my disposal. So that book was my bible, the only thing I had to knowledge about Godzilla and other Toho movies. So to my understanding Godzilla was over. 22 movies was a lot back then!

When I think of it now its like, s#!t! No other franchise can compare to the number of Godzilla movies and time frame of those said movies! If combine all the Star Wars movies(about 9) and the Harry Potter movies(8) and all the Lord of the ring movies(6) and top it off with the Fast and the Furious Franchise(I think 8? Not a fan so I have no idea, don't feel like looking that up) you still cant touch how many Godzilla movies there are and counting! He has more movies than James Bond! So of course when Godzilla hit 22 films I thought it was a respectable time to retire the King of the Monsters. But I guess I was great-fully wrong.  You cant stop a God!
