All the Sony double feature Godzilla blu rays are now on sale at Amazon. Each is USD 11.49 (original price was USD 19.99)

Wal-Mart.com has Godzilla listed for release 11/18/2014. Man I really hoped it would come out sooner......

Sorry about the repeat info but i would bet this is a real date. The week before (dramatic pause) BLACK FRIDAY! Just hope they put out more piggy back releases to coincide with its release. Again props to GMAN2887. The 3d one looks like a steel case too.

It's unlikely Wal-Mart has a real release date without WB announcing it first. And having worked in retail about 150 years ago, I know distributors like customers to buy products for full price. Godzilla will be on sale the first week of its release, but to have it on sale (and likely dirt cheap) for the second week could actually lead to some negative numbers for both distributors and stores-- depending on the price anyway.

I'd think that because it comes out the week before black friday is reason to believe it's not the real release date. But we shall see.

MASSIVE UPDATE: Cover art and release dates for Godzilla 2000, GMK, Godzilla against MechaGodzilla and The Rebirth of Mothra Trilogy blurays have been added. All are slated for a September 9th release date. (Which may also hint at when Godzilla '14 is released on Bluray.)

Awesome news GMAN2887! The last bluray release looked/sounded great! I just wish classic media would do something with their collection. The boxed set they released a few years ago was very nice, the packaging was just awesome. Any whispers from their camp?

Classic Media was asked earlier this year if they have any plans to release buray of their Godzilla catalog. The answer was a quick "no". They would have to pay for all new HD transfers from Toho and don't deem their DVDs a high enough success to do so.

This may change if enough fans charge their email.

Amazon.com has the three new releases available for preorder, $13.99 each. Thank you GMAN2887 for your reply.

You know what makes me mad? I was at walmart yesterday and the had a triple feature dvd of godzilla movies.

The triple feature had these three films

1. godzilla and mothra the battle for earth 1992

2. godzilla vs. king ghidorah 1991

3. GMK 2001

It's disappointing that they do that when i have had to buy each individually.

Thanks Ardian. I found them (and preordered!) on my lunch break and didn't have the time to post the links. Kind of funny that they don't show up on a "Godzilla Blu ray" search but only on a specific title search. Still not sure on the rebirth trilogy, little bit too kid oriented.....

Any word on Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (the original) and Son of Godzilla?

In truth I most likely wasn't looking hard enough. I know what you mean about the Mothra Trilogy. I have no love for it outside some minor glimmers during the kaiju battle sequences, but I'm sure I could find some use for them down the line.

The only whispers I've heard is that a new company had bought the rights to Son of Godzilla and Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla. No word on who, when or what format.

I also want to revise some information. All three new releases will be two disc sets. (Godzilla 2000 will have a disc for Sony's cut and another disc for Toho's. Two Mothra movies will be put on one disc and a third on its own disc.) The special features from the Godzilla 2000 DVD have been confirmed for the Bluray. More information is expected soon.

I also made a minor error that these were the last Toho films Sony owned to put on Bluray. That's not true. They also hold the rights to Mothra (1960), Battle in Outer Space and The H-Man. (All Ishiro Honda films.) These three films are available in a single DVD pack, but there is currently no word on whether or not Sony plans on releasing them to bluray.

Gman..about the special features on Godzilla 2000, is it the same as the special feature on the Japanese first press double DVD set? There's a lengthy 'making of' featurette on the 2nd DVD, as indicated here: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/TDV-2582D

I haven't seen the Mothra trilogy.. I only saw parts of it online...yup, too kiddie for my liking. Since it's a part of Sony's "The Toho Godzilla Collection" series, I will probably still go for the Mothra trilogy bluray anyway... only if the price has dropped of course.

I have bought the Icons of Sci-fi DVD that contains Mothra/Battle in Outer Space/H-man... I thought this was released by Classic Media (who has no plan to release their Godzilla & related catalog on bluray), so I decided to buy it anyway. Hmm, hopefully Sony will decide to get them out on Bluray someday. Shame about Classic Media...they have many early Godzilla, and both Rodan/War of Gargantuas...all need HD treatment :(

I have the Classic Media dvds and I love them. It surprises me that they have no plans for blu-ray. Did the dvds not sell well or something?

I corrected the prices to all the releases-- as of today. No doubt they'll continue to change.

As far as I know the features on the Godzilla 2000 bluray only resemble those on the R1 DVD, not Toho's R2. That could change since the features for these sets have yet to be 100% confirmed.

I think Classic Media expected them to sell better considering the money and effort put into the different versions, features and commentary. I agree Classic Media's DVDs are some of the top best releases in the franchise, DVD or Bluray. Love them.

Wraith,Not sure. You're not the only one because I remember some other posts in here that have disappeared and I've gotten a few complaints about that in my inbox.

Ok, lets try again. My order of the last Godzilla blus from amazon was refunded like $12 when shipped and another $8 a couple days later. I guess I reserved on a high price. I also agree wholehearted with GMAN on the Classic Media dvds. I have the boxed set and they looked better than the new blu rays. Crisp clear picture and sound on my 52" hdtv and blu player.
