KOTM is NOT an SJW Movie

So, people are claiming that Godzilla: King of the Monsters is nothing but a big pile of “SJW/Far Left Extremist Propaganda”. Really? Let’s see if it meets my personal criteria of an SJW movie:
1. Extremist Views. An SJW film likes to categorize a certain type of people as collectively bad. A popular form of this is misandry, seen in films like Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Captain Marvel. In the case of KOTM, having a environmental message, it would be misanthropy. But that’s just not the case. There are plenty of humans in this movie that respect nature and agree that mankind needs to find a better way to provide for itself without damaging the environment. And as I have stated in a previous forum, no, the film does not agree with the villains. The message in itself is quite simple: Respect Nature. That should be a simple moral for anyone, whether you believe in climate change or not.
2. Constantly talking about the message: SJW films won’t stop letting you know the message of their film and 95% of dialogue from characters will be this. It will shove it down your throat until you just don’t want to hear it anymore. Now KOTM does have a fair chunk of talking about it’s themes, but the characters talk about plenty of other stuff plus a whole lot of monster action that still takes the talking of themes to the background but won’t be forgotten.
So in conclusion, you have a film with a nice simple environmental message that is a lot more optimistic than other Godzilla films. If you want a truly “SJW” film, I suggest Godzilla vs Hedorah and Godzilla vs Mothra 1992.

Well, I guess I was the poor unfortunate soul who did find comments and reviews like this. I’m glad people are taking this discussion well, cause I felt like the living incarnation of the Anakin What have I done meme.

Godzillatheking123: I almost posted something else cause I almost misinterpreted your text. I completely agree with you. It’s stupid to think something is “SJW” just because it has a strong message. I personally can enjoy a movie with a strong political message if it’s done well, even movies with messages I disagree with. But, I usually stay away from films like Captain Marvel because not only their messages are usually poorly done, they sometimes actually border on the extremism that KOTM was accused of (even though it didn’t have extremism). I like to speak with my wallet and that’s why usually don’t see “SJW” films.
