A few years back I learned of the existence of a side-story sequel to one of my favorite Godzilla films: Terror of MechaGodzilla.

The short story was written by Terror of MechaGodzilla's screenwriter Yukiko Takayama. It continues the story of both Katsura and Titanosaurus, who survived Godzilla's final blow. In the year 2075, 100 years after the events of Terror of MechaGodzilla, both tragic characters are found for one last go around.

Gmkgoji Same here. The only part that sucked, though? Godzilla was not mentioned whatsoever. As if he was an afterthought. Such a shame.

No need for this particular story to mention Godzilla considering the focus is on Katsura and Titanosaurus. As far as we know, the last time Godzilla made a big appearance in this continuity was 1999 (the events of Destroy All Monsters). He may have just been living in peace on Monsterland since then.

It is. Terror of MechaGodzilla wasn't particularly uplifting either, so it fits Takayama's tone.
