My Views On The NECA King Of The Monsters Figures

Well, they're (mostly) here! NECA has just teased us with their King Of The Monsters line, and it looks pretty good! Sadly, NECA seems to have no intentions of making a Ghidorah figure, so if you want one, you may need to spend $180 bucks on the Monsterarts version. But other than that, Godzilla, Mothra (and her larva form), and Rodan have been revealed! I'll go on and give my honest opinions of each one. First Up:

GODZILLA (Normal/Atomic Blast Version)

Essentially, these two designs are pretty much the same. 

Overall, Godzilla doesn't look that bad. The sculpt looks pretty good, and it even looks like he has more articulation in his tail, just like the Monsterarts figures. Then again, it could just be the paint talking, and the tail is really 4 segments long like every other one, but who knows as of now. The atomic blast version however, looks awesome! The paint job is really well done, and Godzilla looks like a complete badass! This version of Godzilla seems to scream "I Mean Business" I also like the amount of accessories you get with him. (2 types of atomic breath accessories) I also like how Godzilla's eyes are "glowing" blue, it's just a really cool image to look at overall. 

MOTHRA (Adult/Larval Form)

Moving on, we now have Mothra's adult and larval form. We haven't really gotten a good look at her larval form, and this design is...not the best in my opinion. I'm gonna sum it up in 3 words: Turd with legs. I should've seen this coming though, since Mothra's adult form is more insect-like. Anyways, moving on to her Adult form. I'm OK with the design, and the paint makes it look a lot better. I also like the amount of texture and design of her wings. If you look at a close-up of her wings, you can see some sort of texture on her wings, which I really like. Her sculpt is pretty good too, as the paint job she has also brings out many cool details. 

RODAN1 word: WOW. He looks absolutely astonishing. His sculpt and paint job are off the charts, and it is really paying off for him. He's my favorite out of all the designs I've seen, and he's a definite pick-up  for me when he comes out. I love all of the details that he has, especially on his wings. I really like the whole idea of Rodan having Magma armor covering his body, and the sculpt and paint job really bring that out. His head also looks very aggressive, and he looks awesome. I also like the accessory that he comes with. It's pretty cool.
