My Oxygen Destroyer idea for G:KotM and GvK

With the latest buzz surrounding the potential involvement of the Oxygen Destroyer in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, I thought of a compelling manner in which it can not only be used in the movie, but carry over into GvK. Here's my take:

In G:KOTM, the US government retrieves the OD that Serizawa created during the Castle Bravo experimentation against his wishes (due to his whole "humans controlling nature" narrative) after Monarch inadvertently awakens King Ghidorah from his ice prison, leading to the combined presence of 4 different monsters. They use it as a last resort against him (after initially wanting to use it on all 4 of them), taking the combined efforts of Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan and the OD to kill Ghidorah (with Mothra possibly sacrificing herself for good measure).

In a post-credits scene, we see microorganisms appearing around the decaying corpse of Ghidorah, potentially created from the combined presence of OD AND Ghidorah cells (similar to Bagan's origin which, let's be honest, he's basically a mirror image of).

In GvK, these microorganisms eventually involve into the beast known as Destoroyah and start causing destruction in the background that pits Godzilla and Kong against each other. In Act 2, Kong runs into an aggregate form of Destoroyah and defeats him with ease (mirroring his battle with the octopus kaiju in the original KKvG). An evolved Destoroyah (or vengeful surrogate, whatever) later appears and fights and kills (or fatally injures) Rodan.

Godzilla follows a trail of footsteps right by Rodan's corpse and cityside destruction eventually leading him straight to Kong. Godzilla and Kong fight in Manhattan (fitting location for a number of reasons). Godzilla wins (yes, I'm biased), but before he can finish him off, a fully-evolved Destoroyah appears and tries to finish the job for him as a form of payback. Godzilla tries fighting Destoroyah alone and gets manhandled (due to fatigue and just outright being inferior to him). Seeing what's happening, Kong realizes Godzilla's not the enemy and gets up and teams with Big G to defeat Dessy together, thus proving Serizawa's "man vs. nature" theory right.

You could also maybe throw in an arc with Kong fighting a pack of Destoroyah aggregates on SI (or some other tropic location) or Cloverfield-esque city raid with Godzilla coming to clean house on the critters (or both) for good measure, so yeah, he (or some new monster equivalent) fits the narrative better than some might think. Hence, Destoroyah being featured in GvK is actually a distinct possibility in light of this news!

Nice idea. Respects the confirmation of a definitive winner.

Ill agree it wouldn't be a stretch for Destoroyah to just show up after introducing the Oxygen Destroyer. They did it before.

But Godzilla vs Destoroyah never got its respectable theater release here in the states. Many audiences never even heard of Destoroyah or what its origin is about. The reason King Ghidorah, Rodan and Mothra are being introduced is because they all had there run in the states and on American tv. Many veiwers ages 80 to 5 can recognize these monsters. they are still part of the American unconscious of monsters.

Unfortunately for Destoroyah, while becoming an important character for G-fans in the series, doesn't quite hold a long deserved torch like the other classic monsters do. I think he will be over looked as a possibility to join the Monsterverse. I hope I am wrong.

That all aside, I think this is an interesting way to introduce a MUTO Destoroyah. For G-fans it wouldn't be insulting or degrading to bring this form of Destoroyah into the mix.

@riggzamortis yes, but GvK will be a big enough draw on its own to where they can afford to take a chance on a lesser-known kaiju. They don't need a big name kaiju to bring them together since the film already has 2 in the title alone.

sure, but I don't think they would want to risk that with destroyah. I think Legendary would introduce there own MUTO kaiju instead of buying the rights to another Toho character. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see Destoroyah in this film. Im just not holding my breath.
