MechaGodzilla instead of Moguera in Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla

Seeing how MechaG 2 incapitated Godzilla pretty easily by destroying his second brain, and Spacegodzilla is essentially just a clone of Goji, albeit more deadly, I would have to say the tag-team between the two would have decimated Spacegodzilla fairly quickly.

Are you asking if Mechagodzilla could solo SpaceGodzilla? I think not, but the fight would have been the most beamspaming fight of all time and would definitely be more fun to watch if only for the marquee value

Apparently MOGUERA was supposed to be an upgrade of MechaGodzilla. Sourcebooks from the movie supposedly say MOGUERA has the energy absorbing, diamond coated armor. One of the computer screens G-Force is looking at in the movie makes mention of it as well. I have no idea for sure since I've never spotted that computer screen and to my memory Godzilla never fired his regular atomic ray at MOGUERA for any real proof.

It's hard to go by SpaceGodzilla since MOGUERA wasn't designed to combat him. I'm pretty sure that outcome would've been the same, but MOGUERA being an upgrade could probably be disputed.

^I think the real reason is that it would've been just too many Godzillas. I can see problematic and confusing things happening in a script where characters are constantly having to spew, "Godzilla", "SpaceGodzilla", "MechaGodzilla".

^You're right. Four Godzillas. Any other time this would be some weird dream come true, but with Yamashita behind the camera I think it would've been an even more mind-numbing entry.

Not quite on topic, but speaking of M.O.G.U.E.R.A. and Mecha-Godzilla, it reminds me that I'd love to see Marc Cerasini's novels adapted to the big screen in some fashion. Godzilla vs. The Robot Monsters was a decent young adult novel, and it'd make for quite the big screen spectacle. Mecha-Godzilla vs. Baragon, Moguera vs. Anguiras... twice, and then Godzilla, Moguera, and Mecha-Godzilla vs. Mecha-King Ghidorah. Plus interesting back stories for all the giant Mechs.
