MemberBaragonNov-22-2014 3:28 PMHow’s it goin’, folks? :)
I’ve been meaning to do this for a while, and I figured there was no time like the present!
Many, if not most, of us Godzilla fans, myself included, are avid collectors of DVD’s, toys, posters, and other kaiju memorabilia. In this thread, I offer you all a place to share info and pictures of your latest purchases, whether they be a little trinket you found at a hobby shop, an awesome score from eBay, or a massive haul from a convention! Whatever you have just added to your collection, if its kaiju related, share it here!
I’m ALWAYS adding stuff to my collection, so you can count on me sharing my latest purchases here when I have the time to share, and I invite you all to do the same!
Let the bragging sharing commence! :D

^Agreed! :) After years of Bandai sitting on their asses, we FINALLY have 6" scale Gargantuas! Once they sell out, they are gone though. We pass this way but once, folks...
Well, Christmas has come, and I got me a super haul of Godzilla goodies!!!! :D They are as follows:
-The 60th Anniversary Godzilla 1954 Ornament (My God... I adore this thing beyond words. The lights are stunning, as is the sculpt!)
-Microman Gamera 1995 (Hard to put together, but stunning!)
-NECA Scunner (This thing ROCKS!)
-Egg Series Mothra (SO CUTE!!!! Mothra is my favorite... shut up.)
-Diamond Select's Godzilla Bank (So huge, and SO awesome!)
-Target Exclusive Godzilla (2014) Blu-ray (My third copy of the film, but I wanted that featurette!)
-Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla Publicity Photo Poster (A cool shot of Godzilla and Little Godzilla from one of my favorite movies... again, shut up.)
And last but not least... my brother got me THREE vintage Godzilla games for the Gamboy/Gameboy Color/Gameboy Advance (Godzilla, Godzilla: The Series, and Godzilla: Domination), and his girlfriend's family got me both the Godzilla 2014 projecting pen AND a super awesome custom Godzilla clock made from a vinyl record with a Godzilla/city sillouette cut into the top!!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS INDEED!!!!!!!! :D

Yeah, well actually, Y-MSF or Y-MSF owned by Bandai?
That is alot of kaiju goodies!
^Y-MSF is a company started and run by essentially one guy in Japan, and is not affiliated in any way with Bandai. This guy sculpts and paints the figures himself, and Tempting Toys offers them here in the US as limited exclusives.

My last purchases of 2014 have come in... the Dream Factory Bandai Kiryu 2003 with Drill Hand and Damaged Eye!!!!!!!! He was one of my Holy Grails, and I got him beautifully mint for a little over 50 bucks!
Plus, for an amazing $4.00, I got a great copy of Bob Eggleton's Whose Afraid of Godzilla, a picture book for kids! I am a preschool teacher at my local YMCA, and I wanted a way to safely introduce Godzilla to my kids without scaring anyone! I cannot wait to share this book with my children and share the Godzilla love with a new generation! :')

I'm just waiting for my last four perorders to show up, and that should take a few months.

The Ifukube and HTTK stuff was due here last month, so it hould be here soon!
The waiting game begins... :)

Well folks, I finaly did it... I found my Holy Grail figure!!!! After YEARS of searching, my first figure of 2015 issssssss...
The Y-MSF Varan!!!!
Yep, this is my most sought after figure of all time. It may not look like much, but I have been looking for this guy for years and years and years. Only a few hundred were made (in various colors) in 2005, and in the interviening years, the figure has become incredibly rare and, when it does turn up, very expensive.
Varan is one of my all time favorite monsters, and despite staring in his debut film almost 60 years ago, the triphibian terror has never recieved a film accurate, 6 inch figure aside from this one. The others are expensive X-Plus statues or stylized Marmit/Bulmark-style figures. As a collector who wants film accurate figures that scale together (and are not X-Plus expensive), this figure was the obvious choice. But not only was it scarce, it was often over 200 bucks when it did turn up!
But good things come to those who wait... I FINALLY found this guy on eBay a few days ago for an affordable price. He was mint, and being sold by the US' official Y-MSF dealer, Tempting Toys and Collectables. (Apparently they found one somewhere!) With the help of some eBay gift cards, I got it for very little money out of my own bank account! All I have to say is, thank God no one else bid! XD
He got here today, and man, he is a 'beaut! My complete collection of Toho kaiju nears completion!!!! :D

I just got the wonderful SH Monsterarts Rebirth Godzilla!
The torso can pop off easily however, but that's a minor complaint I have. This figure is pure awesomness.
"Daddy's home- cake every night,"
Sorry for the SUPER late reply. I ws kinda busy in the holidays. Anyways, thanks for giving me the history of Y-MSF. I really love that Varan figure you got. I myself have always wanted that figure as well. How much did the figure cost?
Your so lucky to have those Kiryus. I heard they are rare and cost a pretty big chunk of money! I especially like the Damaged Eye Kiryu.
I myself have read the book and for me, it is pretty good. Definitely introduce Godzilla to the youngsters! The more, the marrier.
Daikaiju_Danielle, very lucky! I have 5 in my Wish List and have failed all of them. Such bad luck!
I got some brand new figures now. One is still coming, but the one I got is my favorite out of the two. The figure I got was the Yuji Sakai Banpresto 8 inch Godzilla 2000! It is a phenomenal figure and plus, the seller gave me a bonus figure that being the Fusion Series Bandai Creations Godzilla 2000!
^Nice, dude!!!! I'm still looking for that Banpresto maquette! He's so purdy. :}
And you're welcome for the Y-MSF info! :) Its a great line to collect, but you have to jump on those figures very quickly, as only a few hundred are made of each character.
The Varan I found was originally listed as $150.00, but it was removed and re-listed at $130.00. I used $75 bucks in eBay gift cards and only payed about $55.00 for it out of my own pocket! ;)
And I'm super pumped to bring my book in! I just ordered a cheap copy of Godzilla on Monster Island (the picturebook, not the movie!), so I'm bringing that in too! :D

And Danielle, I'm so glad you got Rebirth Goji!!!! He is an incredibly stellar figure! I love mine to death.
Mine has a torso issue too. Its a common problem with this figure due to the softer material used in the joints. There is a trick to fixing it, though... paint a layer of clear nail polish on the ball joint, and once its dry pop it bake into the socket. The added thickness will keep it in the socket much easier! :)

@Danzilla
Thank you so much, that's a good trick! I will definitely try that today! :D
"Daddy's home- cake every night,"
^No problem! :) I'm glad to help!

Thanks for the compliment! The Banpresto figure is definitely a stellar figure and recommend getting it if you are a type of person that wants an X-plus-ish kind of figure, or a large cheap representation of Yuji Sakai's amazing work on the MireGoji design.
Also, thanks for telling me the price the figure was. Good thing you had that gift card!!
Perfect. Wish I can be there watching the youngsters reaction on the book.
I just recieved the Blu-Ray Godzilla vs. Destroyah & Godzilla vs. Megaguirus set in the mail!
Can't wait to watch them both! I haven't seen vs. Destroyah in 6 years!
"Daddy's home- cake every night,"
Holy cow is that a lot of years of not watching the film! I think I haven't seen Godzilla vs Destroyah in 3 years. It is definitely one of my favorite Godzilla films of all time!
Nice, Danielle!!!! :D Although that Blu-ray kinda bugged me because of how weird it looks on my shelf without Godzilla 2000 in between those two films, its a great release (minus those friggin dubtitles...). :)
And you're welcome, G-fan2000! I'd love to track that maquette down one day!
On another note, I finally jumped on the Death Kappa Blu-ray/DVD set. I've heard nothing but horrible things about that movie, but not only was it 6 bucks on Amazon, its the only major kaiju film I didn't own... so I bit the bullet. :P
In addition, I have the Gamera: The Brave Blu-ray, Ultraman: The Next, the Random House books "Godzilla on Monster Island" and "Godzilla Returns", and a prize pack I won on the Kaijucast live show on the way to me!!!! I don't remember all of what is in there, but I do know I'm getting a Godzilla throw and a My First Godzilla plushie! :'D
