MemberMothra LarvaeOct-03-2014 8:12 PMSo I just signed up with Scified, but I'm having a lot of trouble visiting my favorite scified affiliate, godzilla-movies.com. Every time I try to sign in it says "page cannot be displayed" so I can't leave posts there.
Sad for me I guess, but oh well!
Anyway, I'm a recording arts student at CSU Chico in California in the US, and I'm also in love with music composition. On my SoundCloud page, I have composed around 5 pieces about the big lizard. A few of them are... well, less than stellar, but hey, they were my first few attempts. I would like to think that I've gotten better, with "Final Victory" being my latest work.

I am not terribly familiar with whether or not I'm supposed to do this, but I'd like to leave a link for ya'll to go visit my SoundCloud page to comment and critique my work! Also, I do requests. I am a member of tohokingdom as well and have already worked on two pieces (one of which is funfinished, sadly, for another member). If you guys have a personal Kaiju design and would like a personal theme song written for it, then I'm your guy!!
So before I post the link to my SoundCloud, I'd like to leave my intro at this just in case a moderator says that I'm not supposed to leave links like that. I'm new to most of this community site stuff as I'm not normally a part of them. But if I get the go ahead from a moderator or confirmation from one of you about being allowed to post such links, I'll gladly show you my SoundCloud page so you can take a listen to my Godzilla music (note that there's a bunch of other random stuff on my SoundCloud but most of it isn't worth listening to, sadly)
Until then, thanks for your patience and I hope to hear from some of you soon! Again if any of you are Kaiju designers and want a theme song written for your Kaiju I'd be happy to oblige. But please do remember that I'm in college so progress might be a bit slow, but I will be doing my best!

AdminGodzillaOct-04-2014 10:52 PMInteresting musical ideas. I think you've done pretty admirable work for the limitations placed on the program you're using.
You're right, "Final Victory" is some of your best work on there. I also really enjoyed "Crippling Defeat". Admittedly, though, it took me awhile to catch on to the structure of your Godzilla theme. I didn't quite get it until "Gojira No Uta" which might be the best variation of it-- Or it could just be because I had caught on to what your Godzilla theme was.
It could use more of a hook and a bit more streamlining. There's some musical fluff within the theme that's stopping it from being immediately recognizable. I need to be able to catch on to the melody much earlier than I did.
Still I like the ideas there. They have some potential with more work, editing and cutting. I also hope you get your hands on some programs like Logic and download some more realistic sounding instruments in the not-too-distant future. It should aid your musical artistry.

I had the most difficult time logging in for a good while. Don't know why it suddenly started working now, but hey! No complaints!
Anyway, thank you all (even though it's LONG after the fact) for the welcome and the responses!
Normally I don't do the argument thing, but @GOJIRATHEGOJIRASAURUS, Godzilla technically is a lizard so it shouldn't come across as any kind of bad thing that I called him that. He's reptilian, has scaly skin, and cold blooded. His amphibiousness can be a call to question whether or not h is a lizard, though there are lizards who do the majority of their feeding in the ocean and spend their time on land doing nothing but sunbathing (particularly in the Galapagos Islands). Still, if you feel that strongly about it I won't call him that again.
Since the last time I posted I have gotten better software and have done some practicing with other types of music as well as Godzilla music so hopefully they'll get one or two more listens to by some of you!
