I personally think that everyone in Japan would die and godzilla would be 50 ft taller and stronger or something
There are strong men and weak men. The strong ones are here to keep the weak ones up when ever they fail.

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-24-2014 5:37 PMGodzilla would have grown to 100+ meters a few films early (and Tokyo would have been destroyed, obviously).

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-24-2014 6:42 PMWell id say hed preety much be the same considering russias nuke exploded just abobe tokio, and only part of tokyo would of been dameged scince Godzilla would of absorved the exes radiation

MemberBaragonSep-24-2014 8:05 PMHeisei Godzilla would never be created because chances are the nuke would annihilate tokyo, chances are that would cripple Japan and it wouldn't become the powerhouse that made the futarians come back and create Godzilla to begin with.
But if the heisei godzilla was never created the nuke would be used at all, so think about that.....

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-24-2014 9:24 PM@DURP004 - Return of Godzilla (1984) IS the Heisei era's first Godzilla movie, so saying that Heisei Godzilla wouldn't have been created means absolutely nothing.
Anyway, on to the issue brought up.
If America hadn't stopped the Russian nuke the explosion would have turned Tokyo into a ghost city (if not annihilated it outright depending on how big its load was), but something that EVERYONE doesn't realize since they never bother looking up what makes up a nuclear blast is that Godzilla would not likely get that much stronger nor would he have become the 100 meter one that we know.
Why?
Because only 5% of a nuclear bomb's energy upon detonation is "nuclear" energy or radioactive energy. The rest is all thermal energy reaching temperatures up to twice the surface temp of the sun and concussive force.
What would have happened? Godzilla would have been turned into a black smear on the ground. The temperatures reaching in excess of twice the surface temp of the sun would turn him into a pile of ash in an instant. Godzilla's tough, but he can't handle temperatures like that. The concussive force as well would have blown him to pieces and spread his particles all across Japan. The radiation woudln't do anything for him since those two forces come first in a nuclear chain reaction when the bomb is detonated.
So yeah, Godzilla would have been annihilated along with Tokyo and several surrounding Japanese cities.

MemberBaragonSep-24-2014 9:35 PMSaying it's the first movie created doesn't really matter at this point, because it's still part of the heisei movie's timeline which includes him being created by a mistake the futurians made to hinder Japan's power in the future. The only reason that godzilla exists is because of that. Had the nuke gone off Japan probably would have been set back, not caused people to come back and plot to stop them and thus the Godzilla wouldn't be born.
If we're going to speculate on a fantasy change to a movie when the series has been finished and we know the timeline that would have to be included. If 85 was a standalone movie like most of the millennium movies then you're right but when it's part of a timeline we watched happen that caused his birth and had a whole movie based around they have to be taken into account.

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-25-2014 4:25 AMWell DURP is Rigth, Heisei Godzilla would of not been created

Sparkzilla14
MemberMothra LarvaeSep-25-2014 7:04 AMSeeing that he traveled through the Earth's crust in hot magma then reappearing through a volcanic explosion (GvsMothra93), I'd say he could take the heat from a thermal nuclear explosion. He would probably grow to 100 meters or more after absorbing radiation from the fallout.

AdminGodzillaSep-25-2014 9:30 AMThe thing is we only have a vague idea of how far in the future all this stuff happens with Japan. So who knows if it would've knocked the country out of the running to become all powerful or simply set things back.
