AdminGodzillaSep-03-2014 7:42 PMIn the spirit of keeping the forum alive I've decided to add to the plethora of games and contests that have become so popular around here. This is a little different though.
RULES:
The Godzilla (and related movies) Soundtrack Challenge is a game where you listen to a 30 second clip from any given Godzilla movie and answer a select number of the following questions:
-
WHAT MOVIE IS THE TRACK FROM? - The question is fairly simple. Type what movie you think the clip is from. This question will likely be attached to every clip.
-
WHAT COMPOSER DID THE PIECE? - If you got what track the movie is from, you'll likely get this. Type who you think the composer is. (Edit as of noon, 9/4: If there are multiple composers for the film you MUST at least guess which of the composers did the piece. Naming all of them will not get you a point.)
-
WHAT SCENE IS IT FROM? - Explain the scene from which the track happens. Although since some scores get repetitive this question will not be present for every clip.
-
WHOSE THEME IS IT? - If this question is asked, write down whatever monster/character/military/weapon's theme it is.
Each question is worth one point, unless stated otherwise. Keep in mind, not all of these questions will be asked for each clip, so make sure you read the questions before answering to the newest clip. Also remember some of these clips will not be from Godzilla movies, but films from the same creators/genre.
The person who first answers the questions correctly gets points. If a member only gets some of the answers right, the next member to reply has a chance to earn points from the questions the previous poster got wrong. If all of the questions are not correctly answered 24 hours after the clip is posted no one will get points for the unanswered/incorrectly answered question(s). At that point the next clip will be posted and a new round will begin.
Multiple answers for a single question in a member's post will be ignored completely. If you create a latter post with different answers for the same round your previous answers will be ignored in favor of your new ones.
Test rule: AFTER A MEMBER GETS AN ANSWER RIGHT, THEY SIT OUT THE NEXT ROUND AS TO NOT MONOPOLIZE THE GAME. IF MULTIPLE MEMBERS GET THE ANSWERS TO A SINGLE ROUND EVERYONE WHO CORRECTLY ANSWERED MUST SIT OUT THE NEXT ROUND. The players may return to the round after the one they sit out.
If/when the questions are answered correctly I'll reply to the thread and announce the winner of those questions. The next clip will be posted at a random time both as a new post and in this original post. If I've yet to reply to a thread it means I'm either late or no one has gotten them right. So keep guessing until a winner is announced.
The member with the most points by midnight of September 30th, 2014 will be declared the winner and receive a small, undisclosed prize from me. Runner-up prizes will also be awarded. Scores will be updated periodically here:
Have at it.

Godzilla vs Biollante
Kouichi Sugiyama
Biollante's theme
"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self." - Ernest Hemingway.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaSep-25-2014 11:14 AMGojira2k gets three points and moves up to fourth place.
To clarify I was going to accept both either Godzilla's Theme or Biollante's Theme as answer to this one. Although Sugiyama wrote it to be Godzilla's theme, the movie tends to use it to underscore Biollante as well. So either work.
Gojira2k sits out next round. Round complete.
