Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Godzilla Raids Again, Godzilla vs. Mothra, Ghidorah: Three Headed Monster, Godzilla's Revenge, Terror of MechaGodzilla and Rodan are all owned in America by Classic Media. So it makes sense that all of those would be released together since Classic Media owns the streaming rights to those films.
Echo Bridge owns Godzilla vs. Biollante in America and we don't know if they have streaming rights to the movie. They probably do, but it doesn't seem like they'll bother ever putting it on Netflix since they're letting the DVD/Bluray go out of print in the next few months. (Meaning if you don't have it on DVD or Bluray, you better hurry up and get it. This is your last chance.)
Meanwhile Godzilla 1984/85 doesn't have any distributor in America due to rights issues with New World that have yet to expire. It will never be available on Netflix until the rights issue is cleared up and it's bought by an American distributor for DVD / Bluray release in America-- which is unlikely to happen any time soon.
The real question is why not Monster Zero since Classic Media also owns that as well. That's fairly odd.

MemberBaragonApr-28-2014 9:30 AMI'm happy to see Godzilla Raids Again on the list. It really is a movie that flies very much under the radar of most fans simply because of it's horrible dubbing. Does netflix offer the option to watch subbed? I don't use it so I have no idea.

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaApr-28-2014 9:33 AM@Durp004
Unfortunately it does not offer that option. So the Netflix version is really just Gigantis, The Fire Monster... I really wish Netflix gave the option to watch the Japanese language versions... Not that it hurts me. I own all those DVDs, but fans need more exposure to the original editions.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-28-2014 9:33 AMthey should put all original 28 toho godzilla films on netflix. that would be sweet.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-28-2014 9:35 AMI remember King of the Monsters and Raids Again was once on Netflix. Glad they're bringing some and more back!

Alas I guess Gigantis will continue to ruin what is a much stronger movie without the dubbing of yogi bear and Sulu. Oh well to anyone that watched Gigantis the Fire Monster and finds it very weak, I recommend looking up the original version, this is one of the more heavily editted version with dubbing making it much much worse than the original.

AdminGodzillaApr-28-2014 9:45 AM@Zaffzilla
Considering some distributors don't own streaming rights to the Godzilla movies and the problem with Godzilla 1984/85, that probably is an impossibility.
@Durp
Agreed. It's not simply the dubbing. The pacing, the sound edits and the overall script re-writes of Godzilla Raids Again practically makes it a completely different movie. Shame that's the one that's getting the most exposure...

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-28-2014 11:29 AMGOJIFAN02 I suggest you stop what you're doing right now and watch the original "Rodan" right now!!! Shame on you. I would argue it's right up there with the original "Gojira" classic monster flick and Rodan has never looked or sounded better.

MemberBaragonApr-28-2014 5:51 PMYep, looks like the Classic Media library is finally returning to Netflix! I wonder why they removed them in the first place? Plus, where the heck ARE Monster Zero and War of the Gargantuas?! Logic dictates they should be showing up too! Oh well, I own them all. :) Plus, the Hanna Barbera series needs to return as well. I hope Sony and Section23 jump on board the Netflix bandwagon and allow their Godzilla titles (11 between them) to be streamed. Plus, Sony COULD allow Godzilla 2000, GMK, and GXMG to be streamed as well, as they own those too. We'll see. :)

Sony and Section23 have 14 titles between them.
Section23 owns Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster, Godzilla vs. Hedorah and Godzilla vs. Gigan.
Sony owns Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, Godzilla and Mothra: The Battle for Earth, Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II, Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla, Godzilla vs. Destroyah, Godzilla 2000, Godzilla vs. Megaguirus, Godzilla, Mothra King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, Godzilla against MechaGodzilla, Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. and Godzilla Final Wars.
I'm pretty sure Sony has the streaming rights for their library, but I don't know what the situation is for Section23. Streaming and home video rights are usually the same these days, so I would assume they could pitch them to Netflix if they wanted.
