MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 6:28 PMIf you saw Smaug, his firebreath looked awesome. Blue wouldn't be believable to be honest. I would rather it be red/ orange than blue. I'd also like Godzilla to not be able to control his breath at first. Like it'd take him time to learn to charge it up and use it properly. But apparently he's going to be around for 50 years or so already so I'm sure hes gunna be a pro!

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 6:37 PMMaybe even a dark blue/ navy would be better than the usual bright neon blue

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 6:41 PMI think its been said it will be blue. Actually, blue makes sense to me. Blue is much hotter than red, and being that he is an atomic creature would mean he should be able to generate incredible heat. Also, Godzilla is mistaken for a "Fire" breathing monster, and having it red would only support that myth. He breaths atomic radiation(Which Im sure you all know). In addition, blue is his trademark and a characteristic that shouldn't be changed since he is being rebooted. Also, he shouldn't have to "Charge up" to a great extent. If the energy is there, he should be able to access it. Of course only use it in do or die situations. Think about a snake that spits poison, or an eel that gives burst of electricity, there is no noticeable "Charge".

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 7:00 PMThe only way the color Blue is hotter than Red is in reference to fire. Essentially, his atomic beam should be invisible until it hits something. So how are you going to say he breaths blue atomic radiation and say that's more believable(because it's hotter) than a red/orange beam of fire lol? Contradicting. If Godzilla breathed fire, it'd probably be blue because it'd be that hot. Atomic radiation, however, does not have a color. Have you ever seen a blue atmoic bomb explosion?

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 7:11 PMIf it were to be completely realistic, then the ray itself shouldn't be visable. But what fun is it in that? I do like red, especially with Godzilla 2000. Blue is just more fitting. Even so, it it recognizable to most fans. After all that was being used for so long until the 90's.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 7:19 PMAbsolutely. But when I watch any Godzilla movies and I see the blue breath i kinda just shake my head because its so unnatural looking. I know this Godzilla is going to have a blue beam, I just hope it doesnt look funny or cartoony.

Akio123
MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 7:22 PMIn all honesty, thats what I'm worried about. As hard as I try, I still can't picture that looking believable and real. Maybe they'll prove me wrong. I hope they do.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 8:08 PMI say red because in Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla the blue did some damage but at the end godzilla got his red beam exploded space Godzilla and Mogera and mecha Goodzilla but yes i say blue too but at the same time red

AdminGodzillaJan-14-2014 8:38 PM^The only reason the red beam destroyed MechaGodzilla is because Godzilla's glitter was melting the armor.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-14-2014 9:21 PMI have to go with the blue atomic breath. Its beauty is matched only by its destructive power which I think will add to Godzilla's character. Some of the destruction should have an aura of glamour to symbolize the nature aspect of him while other aspects represents mankinds hideous nature.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-15-2014 2:51 PMThe director stated that this movie will feature the most realistic atomic breath we've ever seen, not quite sure what that entails. He never confirmed the color of the beam, but I think for the sake of old Gojira fans, it'll be blue.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-15-2014 5:42 PMI know a lot of people will disagree with me but, what is Godzilla had green atomic breath. Now that would be awesome
RESPECT THE GOLDEN MIRU

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-04-2014 12:47 PMI for one think the red atomic breath would be better because it would beautifully compliment the new godzilla design. When you look at the new trailer, you don't see the short, plump godzilla with odd intelligence that came out 30 years ago (I think),no, you see a dark malovent creature, the sum of mankinds sins against itself, the true fury of mother natures wrath; and if you give something like that bright blue neon breath, no one is going to take that seriously. I respect the fact that fans are nostalgic about the blue breath but lets face it you gotta look at the bigger picture. Gareth Edwards wants the movie to be in-depth, emotionally compelling and subtley terrifying so that the movie can appeal outside of the godzilla community.
Life is very simple, but we insist on making it complicated.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-04-2014 1:18 PMi don't think the elemnts from the heisei and millenium series will ever be implemented by gareth edwards including the spiral heat beam becuase i don't think gareth edwards has seen any of the movies in the heisei and millenium series, he's said in a Q&A that he's watched the HB Godzilla series first, then channel 4 aired some showa movies during the hype for 98 and only after 2004 did he get to watch the 1954 gojira (tanks to BFI) and the fact 54 had a major influence at such an older age must mean that it is a masterpeice

AdminGodzillaMar-04-2014 1:42 PMI don't see the color of Godzilla's ray affecting realism or "seriousness" (which is slowly becoming the most overrated tone in the cinematic repertoire) one way or another.
That said, based on the toy and even the insinuation in the Snicker's commercial, I pretty sure it will be blue. The actually breath substance itself my look different, but I'm 90% sure the color will be blue.

godzillafan1995
MemberMothra LarvaeMar-04-2014 1:50 PMalso we all know godzilla's breath is highly radioactive, while it's common in pop culture to represent radiation in a green colour, radiation is mostly invisible except for chekhov radiation, which if you type it up, is a type of radiation found comonly around a nuclear reactor and guess what colour it is, neon blue, it actually looks like the same colour as the classic blue atomic breath, so it is not unrealistic if a radioactive breath is blue. also the fact they have already overused the colour red for everything else, a red breath seems boring

Akagi
MemberMothra LarvaeMar-04-2014 1:53 PMRed flame is boring. Godzilla is a unique fire-breathing monster amongst other fire-breathing monsters. He fires a blue beam because it distinquishes him from other creatures. Atomic Breath being any color but blue is just kinda... meh to me.
As for realism, technically the cooler the color of fire, the hotter it is. Some of the hottest substances in the known galaxy are practically white in color. Yeah, don't gimme the whole "Thermite is orange"-- I don't care. Thermite changes into all sorts of colors depending on what it is burning.
Besides, what is the point of having a powered up red beam if he is firing it all the time? I like the red breath to be a powered up version, while the blue is the basic-- but that is just me. It seems like that'd be more pleasing to the red-breath fans because then it basically states that RED IS SUPERIOROROROROR.

godzillafan1995
MemberMothra LarvaeMar-04-2014 2:02 PManouther thing, technically the breath is white (the beam version) it just emits a blue aurora around the beam, possibly chekov radiation

G. H. (Gman)
AdminGodzillaMar-04-2014 2:09 PM^When the original film was released apparently there were audience members who assumed it was white. To this day there's fans who believe the agreed upon color for Godzilla's original breath weapon was white.

Akagi
MemberMothra LarvaeMar-04-2014 2:11 PM@Gman
I always assumed the first breath was white or gray in color, personally.
As for the 'aura'-- this is more than signifed in several films. Best examples though is looking at the breath when it is illustrated in comics, particularly the dark horse ones that really emphasized the white with a blue aura.
