AdminSpaceGodzillaFeb-07-2013 10:42 PMWith production only weeks away and a script still being polished, with little info to go by, why do you hope to see in the new Godzilla 2014 movie?.... besides, you know.. Godzilla.
I mean, do you hope the film focuses primarily on Godzilla himself rather than 85% of it be focused around a human love story? In terms of portrayal, do you want the new flick to put Godzilla in a "bad" light, making him look evil? Or would you prefer Godzilla to come across as Earth's protector?

As news continues to surface on Godzilla 2014's plot, some of our questions might be answered. But in the absence of any solid leads, let's throw out our hopes for the new Godzilla film.
So, what do you most want to see or take place in Godzilla 2014?
Predator: Badlands - coming November 7th, 2025

I'm hoping that the movie focuses on making Godzilla look like a potential threat to humanity. Make the city a battleground for Godzilla and the challenging monster. Make sure there is enough destruction that when the battle is over, you can see that the city is totaled.

I want to see Godzilla. I don't want to see a lot of human crap for 60 minutes and then Godzilla and the other monster for 15. I want the humans to know just enought about whats going on to tell me what the new monster is, where he came from and how dangerous he is. Other then that, i want it to be a monster fest.

The story needs to focus on Godzilla! His story. His birth, his message to mankind that when you mess with nature(ala nuclear testing) monsters are born. Please dont give us another terrible iguana! Godzilla needs to stay true to his legendary appearance. The plates that light up before and during his atomic blast! Make the blast the best we have ever seen.
Massive destruction on a scale never seen in a monster movie. Godzilla must be seen as the force of nature that he is. No way to defeat him but let it pass, just as a storm blows itself out. The worst thing that can be done is to think too far outside the box. Keep him looking like G fans remember from their childhood and you will win them over. Good luck Gareth...Make us proud

Here's what I'm looking for in this new film...
It is already confirmed that he has the same origins as the original film.
I want them to bring back the balance between the human drama/story and Godzilla. The original film at its time, and still today, had a compelling human story. Even GMK slightly brought this back. I want to see that again.
Godzilla's story needs to be dark and serious. Godzilla is NOT a hero, period. He's whole "hero" persona takes me back to the childrens' films of the 60s and 70s which is what they are already trying to avoid with this new film. If you're gonna cheer for Godzilla at any point in this film, it should only come out of one situation.- We cannot destroy the other monsters unless with let Godzilla destroy for us.
Godzilla is the force of nature caused by mankind to teach us a lesson for what we have done to each other and our planet.
I want to see Godzilla as a dark and evil monster once again such as in Godzilla, Godzilla's Counterattack (Raids Again), or GMK.

I hope that Godzilla is a real MONSTER in this one, whatever his origins. I was rewatching the Matthew Broderick GODZILLA just the other day and one thing they got hugely wrong, among many things, was their portrayal of Godzilla as "just" a giant animal, and not a particularly aggressive or dangerous one at that. Godzilla needs to be much more than that. Whether they make him an outright menace or cast him as the lesser of two evils, "protecting" Earth from other monsters, Godzilla, IMHO, has to be a formidable, aggressive, menacing MONSTER...

I want to see godzilla and I want him to be violent I want this to be a rated R godzilla film

I'm hoping for a dark tone like return of Godzilla (not 1985 version with Raymond Burr parts spliced in). That was a strong movie outside of Godzilla's weakness being that he followed bird chirping. His low, guttural growl, and the way he almost hunted the main characters was pretty intense.
He should terrorize the pacific seaboard unless they drastically rewrite his origins, but of course NYC offers a lot more skyscrapers to thrash.
As far as his enemies, I think Bagan deserves a shot, but if they plan on making more than one movie Bagan should be last as he would pose the most serious threat to both Godzilla and the planet.

Nice post, I agree. I want Godzilla 2014 to be a much darker and serious film, which thankfully, it apparently will be. In terms of monsters, I know we'll see two more, but no idea what they could be. Could be two more Godzillas and they kill two of them off, leaving the one alive for future sequels. Who knows!

I will be satisfied as long as that it doesn't screw up like the 1998 American Godzilla movie (which should be renamed 'Zilla')
I hope that the new movie doesn't take too long to set the story up and that the humans have 75% screen time.
Those are my hopes for the new movie.

Hello, first-time poster, long-time Godzilla-watcher. I'm keeping my hysteria for Godzilla smoldering away under my skin right now, but wanted to prepare for some serious geeking-out once the film gets underway by finding other geeking-out fans.
I hope to see a darker-toned Godzilla film with an emphasis on the relentless 'force of nature' aspects of the monster. It (not he or she, no eggs, no son, no clone) attacks humanity simply because we're in its way, and though humans come up with ideas to stop it, nothing works (no Super-X, no mecha, no laser trucks). The confrontation with another force of nature (no aliens, no ancient gods, no genetic experiments) is a case of Godzilla being the Lesser Evil, and it happens downtown.
Of course, if it's completely different from this, I'll still be seeing it Day One.

Well first of all I want this Godzilla to be a serious force of destruction like in the first movie and GMK and second I want the trademark blue atomic breath! It's not Godzilla unless he's nuking stuff with his breath! LOL
Another hope of mine is that after seeing this movie, more people will give Godzilla and all the people who worked or starred in his movies in the past the respect they deserve. Not this,"Oh Godzilla's a corny man in a suit crushing cardboard buildings",crap!
You have your fear which may become reality, and there\\\'s Godzilla, which is reality.

If it's going to be succesful, which it is, it needs to forshadow some possible enemy monsters( or allies) for sequals. Sure i'm excited for fresh blood, but i WAAAAAAANNNNT a new Mechagodzilla and a blast from the past enemy like Megalon and Mothra!

I belive if you take something to far it loses value. Lets try to keep an open slate . This movie should add the creation of «G» , as well as end this movie after monsters final battle. Which leaves room for possible sequels and other fights and a last movie of destruction by man. SORRY FANS BUT ALL GOOD THINGS MUST HAVE AN END. Look what they did with Gamera3- He looked awesome. Just didnt show enough of him. He looked fierce. So should this godzilla. P.S., SUITING UP? Bad idea. you can always see a suit. Realism is best.
