MemberGiganMay 07, 2021Let me clarify. I do not meant the eras I mean the continuity’s. For example, GMK is connected to the OG film and so is the rest of the showa, but the rest of the showa and GMK are not in the same timeline.
I like The anime continuity and I also like the GMk one

...but it's a train wreck stock piled on sewage to blueprint everything wrong with 1990s blockbuster filmmaking. Let's just say there's a reason marketing campaigns have not been as over the top since this thing.
Ok, by saying, “everything wrong with 1990s blockbuster filmmaking,” do you mean that the original Jurassic park is bad?
SarcasticGoji,
The shelves and shelves and shelves of unsold merchandise and toys that point the Trendmasters toy company out of business...
Die-hard Spino Fan,
No. I mean the cliches of bad 1990s blockbusters were funneled into it without remorse.
Ok, because I'm probably going to watch some of the more important Goji films.
What I'm going to watch:
Godzilla (1954)
Mothra vs Godzilla
Rodan
Ghidorah
Destroy All Monsters
Godzilla vs Megalon
Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla
Godzilla (1984)
Godzilla Vs. Biollante
Godzilla vs Destroyah
Godzilla (1998)
Godzilla 2000
Godzilla x Mecha G
Godzilla: Final Wars
Shin Godzilla
Rewatch: King Kong Vs. Godzilla (1962), Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla: King of The Monsters, and Godzilla Vs. Kong
I don’t think it’s correct to classify certain films as more important than others

@sonictiger, how much time do you have on your hands to watch all of those movies?
Just the ones that are more talked about....
And I have the summer...
But I'm not doing this until KOTM and GVK return to HBO Max...
No, but they're returning in either August or September....
SarcasticGoji,
Maybe, but there's certainly a precedent for it. That's practically what the Criterion Collection is based on. (And there's a reason they only wanted the Showa Era.) But to not classify GMK as important seems odd since it was the most successful and talked about Millennium film. And watching Godzilla x MechaGodzilla without Tokyo SOS is odd. Frankly at that point, just watch all of them.
hmmm. That’s weird because I watched KOTM and GvK on like April 28 or something and they removed it that quickly? Shame on them.
Yeah, I'll probably just do the entire Kiyru saga just for continuity's sake...
They removed them on May 1st
I’m watching thess films when I get time.
Godzilla Raids again
King Kong vs Godzilla
Mothra vs Godzilla
Ghidorah
Invasion of the Astro Monster
Ebirah Horror of the deep
and many other showa movies.
Their harder to get to watch now, (at least for me)

SarcasticGoji,
Well if you have the money I'd spring for the Criterion set. It's expensive, but worth it.
Otherwise, I think the majority of the titles you mentioned are on various forms of streaming, including HBO Max.
Off-Topic question Gman, but has my Stranger Things article been approved?
If not please do so....
Heisei and Showa.
As much as I like the Millennium series my biggest problem with it is the fact that it kept resetting the timeline and never had a strong continuity (a problem that the Reiwa series also has). What I like about the Heisei series, the MonsterVerse, and parts of the Showa series is that the movies feel connected to each other, with the events of previous movies setting up the story for future movies, like Mecha-King Ghidorah's remains being used for Mechagodzilla or the Oxygen Destroyer killing the original Godzilla and creating Destoroyah. It makes the world feel more interesting.
As for 1998, I'm a bit biased towards it as it played a big role in my childhood. It was the first giant monster movie I ever saw and helped make me the fan that I am Today, so I could never truly dislike it. As a Godzilla movie it fails, but as a dumb entertaining monster movie I don't think it's that bad. I don't think that it deserves the intense hatred that a lot of fans throw at it (seriously it's been 23 years, get over it). The animated series is actually pretty good and is much more faithful to Godzilla's legacy, so I would recommend it.
sonictiger,
I'm not sure which site that article that's linked to and who spends the most time running it, so that's going to have to be either Chris or someone else that approves it once it has been looked at.
