As with every major blockbuster film, potential script and plot leaks are bound to be posted to the internet. Or, at least some will try. Godzilla: King of the Monsters has had it's fair share of "leaks", many of which proved to be untrue, while some were close to the letter.

For the sake of chronicling these leaks for a look back next year, this topic contains one (of many I'm sure) plot leaks for Godzilla vs. Kong 2020. Whether this has any legitimacy behind it or not, we simply do not know - however personally I remain very very skeptical.

But, for the sake of discussion, the entire plot breakdown has been shared below. Of course, in the event that any of the details below are true, we urge you to be cautious as obviously the following will be full of spoilers.

GvK is supposed to be slightly different in the approach of the film's main villain, while in G14, Kong:SI and KoTM the threats were preexisting and something Godzilla and Kong had already faced and had victories against. This time the Threat is meant to be something man made rather than something man just awakened, something Godzilla and Kong aren't ready for. Supposed to be a "Destroy All Monsters" type film, but in name only as the plot revolves around a character devoting his life to destroying every Titan(Mainly Godzilla) on Earth by using cells from the decapitated head of Ghidorah to create a very similar monster to Hedorah, but isn't said monster. Godzilla and Kong have several fights, most being started because Kong sees Godzilla as a threat to humans.  Kong is up to Godzilla's chest in height and is as strong as Godzilla, but faster. While Godzilla is slower, but more tank like. Kong doesn't care about/ignores the "Titan Hierarchy" which is why he isn't submissive towards Godzilla, this later leads in the other Titans going berserk. Kong doesn't get a power up or Deus ex Machina to fight Godzilla, it's mostly CQC and brutal.  Kong is able to dodge Godzilla's atomic breath when he fires it, he learns from watching the charge up and reacting accordingly. Though is hit directly by it the first time used, which severely hurts Kong and forces him to retreat(First battle). Rodan(Described with Large scar on chest) and the other Titans appear notably after Godzilla and Kong's second and brief fight(Kong breaking off part of Godzilla's dorsal fin and stabbing him in the neck with it), which knocks Godzilla off the throne in the eyes of the other Titans and begin to start challenging both Godzilla and Kong for the throne. Kong and Rodan Fight, resulting in Rodan's death after Kong breaks his neck. Other minor Titans are deposed rather quickly by a mix of Godzilla and Kong killing them, and military action. The Man Made Monster, "World Destroyer" is a large mass of cells that attempts to take shape, but is unable to due to it's body secreting an acid like substance. Though the creature has a regeneration factor that recovers from the damage but not enough to keep a permanent form. "World Destroyer" is able to copy aspects of other monsters temporarily, such as Kong's large arms or Godzilla's tail. The monster is fought by both Godzilla and Kong before their final battle, as it's the first victim to fall into a chamber of the Hollow Earth, killing it. Godzilla and Kong's final battle is at a"Hellscape" version of Mt. Fuji, which is erupting and collapsing due to the plans of the human villain earlier. Mt. Fuji hosts a "Chamber", a pocket that is connected to the Hollow Earth. The Human villain's plan is to collapse the chamber and have the monsters swallowed by it and burning them in Lava and the chemicals being pumped into several chambers. Godzilla wins the battle against Kong, but Godzilla is swallowed into the collapsing chamber before delivering the death blow to Kong. The scene described very similar to the ending of Godzilla 1984 as it's supposed to be an emotional moment that evokes the idea of "If you didn't start this then Godzilla and Kong wouldn't be dying!". Kong survives and makes his way back to Skull Island, while on a submarine, their radars start picking up a large mass appearing from an underwater volcano. A familiar shape starts emerging from the erupting volcano, ending on a fade to black with Godzilla's roar Godzilla and Kong defeat "World Destroyer", making the tone feel like they got through with their differences and are friends now, Nope. Godzilla and Kong start sizing each other up and charging at each other as a burst of lava explodes from the volcano and steam erupting from the ground. Human characters described as crying and emotional in a way like "You both don't have to do this!". After a climatic battle, Kong loses an eye to Godzilla and is tail whipped(Kong in the second fight grabbing it and pulling Godzilla back from a building). Godzilla slowly approaches over Kong and begins charging an atomic breath. Another explosion causes Godzilla to stop and stubble back, he then begins to start sinking into the ground, a final "sad" roar is let out and the ground caves in, swallowing Godzilla, releasing fire and ash into the air as Godzilla is assumed to meet his end there.

This leak originated from a user on reddit who claimed to have insider knowledge. As with any leaks, take with a major grain of salt.

In the meantime, feel free to discuss this plot and let us know what you think!

Ummm...Kong won in both the Japanese and American versions. There will be a winner and then they will team up at the end of the movie.

Actually, Kamoebas, that one was debunked. In both versions, you see Kong swimming off and hear his roar. Still doesn't exactly prove he won, because... Godzilla lives in the ocean... and you probably couldn't hear his roar from under the water... and he might have just decided to have taken a nap... perhaps that was Kong's roar of submission? It can only be really guessed at.

If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.

Yeah in both versions Kong won, yet in both versions Godzilla survived seeing as america dubbed more godzilla movies. If I remember correctly in the dub weren't they surprised to see Godzilla alive in the follow up movie, Godzilla vs The Thing?

I don't know, I haven't watched Godzilla V.S. The Thing yet.

In my opinion, seeing them team up is fine so long as there is a clear winner, which Legendary confirmed a long time ago, so no need to worry about a tie. Having them team up would be pretty cool, hell maybe throw Rodan in there too. Would be awesome, but I'm probably hoping for too much there. Then after they win, they acknowledge some sort of respect for one another and walk away, or Kong walks away after Godzilla gives one last victory roar after the respect thing (if you can't tell, I'm rooting for Godzilla).

If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.

I did not know that people were still replying to this topic, and the fact that my comment from my second account was still there also surprised me.

This is so shocking.

This plot leak is almost most likely fake, because:

Godzilla 2014 and 2019 are the SAME

It is unlikely toho would let legendary toss Godzilla into a volcano casually

"World destroyer" is a cringy name and doesn't make sense to me it would be more logical if the was a mecha king-Ghidorah and a hedorah-like creature sounds like a ripoff to literally everyone

toho also wouldn't let legendary COMPLETELY ROOT FOR KONG, OTHERWISE, YOU WOULD HAVE A HOLLOW MOVIE OF SOME S### THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

so basically just don't let this fake plot leak decieve you, period.

Oh, absolutely. The only way killing off both of them could even remotely work is if they set it up for one of those things where it looks like they're dead, but they're actually still alive and able to come back in future movies if GvK does well.

There are a couple of things about this leak that had me worried for a while, like Rodan's scar and a Titan hierarchy, seeing how they were part of KOTM, but due to, uh...recent developments, I'm pretty sure this leak is false.

That said, there are a few concepts that I liked. I kinda like the general idea of the World Destroyer, even if the name is lame as all get out. I imagine the main human villain unleashing it while going "Now I am become death...the destroyer of worlds" or something along those lines. And I kinda like the idea of whatever societal structure the Titans have just completely breaking down. In fact, that's one thing that I'm really hoping to see in GvK; a Titan civil war, with different Titans aligning themselves with either Godzilla or Kong.

A true fan can acknowledge the bad while still appreciating and cherishing the good.

i feel a bioweapon will be used however given it took 16 years for the Human genome to be fully mapped. A creature like Ghidorah whom I believe is a Flawed genetically engineered terraforming machine at best and at worse a biologically created weapon to clear a planet for resale or resource gathering. so his genome will take a lot of time to map even with modern technology. so they will have to use the sequences of the muto's as the film takes place a year after KOM its just not enough time to map Ghidorah's genome.

also, Monsterverse Godzilla fights differently from Toho Godzilla thanks to the fact that its a motion capture CGI creature instead of a man in a suit. Monsterverse Godzilla a QCQ machine. Godzilla does not need to hit kong with his heat beam to beat him. Godzilla has sharp claws that can shred kongs soft skin, a tail that can break his bones, teeth that can rip his throat out. also if there fighting on a aircraft carrier all Godzilla needs to do to win is tackle Kong into the water, and once kong is in the water kong will lose as he can't breathe underwater well Godzilla both can. Had we not used the OD when Godzilla pulled Ghidorah into the water there would be more of Ghidorah to study. so ya Kong will die if they fight on an aircraft carrier or in the water cause Godzilla is the real King of the sea, Aquaman just lives in it.=)

If Godzilla dies, it'll be by MechaGodzilla.  Also this leak is 100% wrong
