Godzilla 2's Release Date Was Going To Be The Day Before My Birthday

It's quite outrageous how long it is taking for them to do a film that was, considered a success. I mean it made 500 million, probably took in like 200 million.

There's a bad joke here about how the date was set for 2018 so Edwards could return. Now that he's not it turns out they should've been looking for a new director to begin with. Had that happened it could've hit next year.

I don't think G-Fans are laughing, though.

Yeah, I'm quite disappointed in Edwards. Like, his first real break was Godzilla. Then Star Wars. He proved himself quicker than most and had potential to direct a few more high profile blockbusters before a new director makes their mark in Hollywood. I feel as though Edwards is throwing in the towel way too early. There's plenty of time to pursue smaller, indipende projects AFTER you've made a killing and yourself a household name. I don't see Edwards bouncing back in the same way after this.

It's really quite unfortunate and a let down, especially considering his enthusiasm for the sequel.
