Debate Week Season 7 and the future of the series

It's because people are busy anymore Gg.

The site use to have at least 100 members signed in daily. Now, it's averaging around 30-50. Just give it time when more news releases about these future films. They'll be back. 

Just a suggestion, try Twitter. Fans had a blast last night with August Ragone and shout factory with a Gamera marathon. I'm just saying you could do this debate stuff on Twitter. I share my artwork and Gman2887 does his movie tournament there like here on scified.

Also, no one debates these. They "vote." "Baragon wins... because he's cute." "I vote for Baragon." "Eh... *such and such wins." No one gives a reason why they believe said character wins, and no one cares to refute it. But those "votes" don't really count towards anything either, because there really is no ultimate point for this debate format.

Also, the structure and showmanship is simply lacking. You need a set format with how you describe monsters. You need strict bulletin points for each. You sometimes state the height and weight for one, but forget it for the other because you... I guess you "try" and be colorful with your language, like it's a boxing match or something. But it's ultimately just fluff that most don't even read.

Just look to GMan's movie tournament for an example if you need one.

^The series is meant for debating, people say that they vote but the whole point is for a debate. I don't state the height and weight for some because most people know a lot about certain characters. The showmanship is lacking? Wow, didn't think I would here that one.

To be honest, Debate Week has always been the series that brings life back to the forums. It looked like this season wouldn't be any different, with Day 1 having a good amount of comments. But it just deteriorated very fast.

I think I'm going to cut it, tomorrow will be the series finale.

Moreso than lack of interest it's more a lack of community. This forums gets 2-3 posts a day on average if even that there's no one to post so topics don't get replies. Around late 2016 or so the forum might spring back up but as of now there isn't much interest it seems
