MemberMothra LarvaeJul-10-2015 1:36 AMTo recap, in my last origins I posted, I proposed Mothra as a supersized Carboniferous moth worshipped by human natives on an island, and Rodan as one of a species that fed on radiation specifically produced by volcanoes. As for Ghidorah, here's what I came up with.
King Ghidorah could belong to a species of creatures that were written of and feared by the natives of the island Mothra inhabited, and with good reason. As hatchlings, they would initially lack their two extra heads and electric beams, but would still have wings to move around their environment faster. To mature and grow two more heads, massive size and possess electrical beams, they had a unique survival tactic. They would seek out any accessible living organism and absorb it's eletrical field, something all animals have, before biting into them and draining their bodies of all fluids, nutrients and energy, leaving a withered husk of their victims. This is of course harkening back to what Keizer Ghidorah did to Godzilla in Final Wars. As well as storing the electricity from the animals they had killed, they would be able to draw in lightning from storms and store that in their bodies for use too, granting them their electric beams. And, at a fully grown status, they would possess the classic three headed and two tailed look we all know and love from Ghidorah himself.
Please leave your thoughts below! I'd love to hear your opinions!

The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeJul-10-2015 11:08 AMWhile I definitely want King Ghidorah to be some sort of extraterrestrial being, this origin isn't bad at all. It definitely has more thought put into it than some fans' proposed origins, and provides some nice connections to Mothra and nods to King Ghidorah's history, all while being grounded enough to fit into Legendary's universe.
My ideal origin would be for Ghidorah to be an alien creature from an unknown world that arrived on Earth sometime in the past, possibly wiping out the dinosaurs or causing some other extinction event. Over the years, some people have seen King Ghidorah, and his appearance inspired the classic worldwide legends of dragons. In the present day, something causes King Ghidorah to awaken, and he begins rampaging across the Earth once again. As for Ghidorah's motivations, he could be a type of parasitic lifeform that feeds on the life of planets he visits. Or, a more frightening possibility, nobody knows why he destroys and kills. He simply does. This would make him a strong foil to Godzilla and the other monsters. While they cause destruction only as a byproduct of their size or while only trying to survive, King Ghidorah just seems to kill and destroy because he can.

Something Real
MemberGodzillaJul-10-2015 12:36 PMGIGAN923 - I very much enjoyed your idea! With regards to my own preferred origin for Ghidorah, I would like to see an extraterrestrial origin - one that is rooted deeply in modern science. Perhaps the great, three-headed monster is accidentally "phased" onto our world after a massive accident with the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) at Cern rips a tear between our dimension and another. Or, on a more realistic note, perhaps Ghidorah is found dormant on one of the asteroids upon which NASA and other space-faring organizations plan to land probes for the possibility of mining in the very near future. That, in my opinion, would be a very eerie reveal! :)

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-10-2015 1:53 PMVery interesting indeed! I have widely seen that many want King Ghidorah to be an extraterrestrial being with realistic origins that would fit in to Legendary's universe, which is what you have done here! Also, thanks for liking my origin!

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-12-2015 1:23 PMI would like to see Ghidora aas a alien being but this origin is preety neat! I do think that an alien dragon would be to sci-fi for the movie

Triple X
MemberMothra LarvaeJul-23-2015 10:50 PMMy first idea was that Gidorah is the product of a genetically modified organism based on Muto, Godzilla and Animal DNA. If it works on Jurassic World, why not also in Godzilla 2?
Another approach is, that Gidorah was original some sort of giant electric eel or deep sea creature, that mutated over the centuries, caused by massive radiation (by a comet would get close to an alien origin). It would have an electric attack, could fly, or at least glide. We have a giant moth, a bird like creature, a lizard/dinosaur … why not a mutated sea creature … :D
