Am I the only one who is slowly losing interest in this film? please say I am cuz im not liking it.

Im starting to like the 98 film more as an entertaining film, even though they got Godzilla all wrong.

I went to watch the 98 film again and was able to sit through it joyfully while for 2014 I only enjoy the slow build up and the part were godzilla finally comes in, but them cutting away Godzilla whenever he gets on screen ultimately ruins it.

Dont get me wrong I still rather watch the 2014 film instead and of course its more well made but its just boring.

all the cutaways and stuff just bores me.

Even if I don't 100% agree with everything Koldwarkid said, I understand the sentiment and see where he's coming from. Although I seem to be in the camp where the cutaways don't bother me nearly as much, I find the new film more entertaining for its polarizing directorial decisions which are more interesting than the  standard 1990s, by-the-numbers, textbook-esque decisions Emmerich made in 1998.

Godzilla '14 is very, very far from the ultimate Godzilla film and hardly the Godzilla movie to beat all Godzilla movies, it's true. But there's at least a lot more thought put into it than what occured in 1998.

GMAN2887 - I agree with your assessment. The instances in which we're left to wonder what has transpired exactly don't have a definitve negative effect upon me. Naturally, I'd like to see more and, like you so eloquently put it, Edwards' Godzilla is far form the perfect Godzilla film. That being said, it's still a fun ride! :)

Zilla 98' is the definition of cheesy 90's films. Right next to Indepence Day, jeez I lived through the 90's and cringe when I watch either one

@Gman2887 - Totally agree with your last paragraph. Emmerich had nothing but disdain for the character and series; he totally dismissed it. It was a huge paycheck for him, nothing more. Tull, Rogers, Edwards, et al, all seemed to have a genuine love and passion for Godzilla. You look at it and you're not mistaking it for anything other than Godzilla.

No, there are alot of people who think that G98 was better than G14. It's your opinion and everyone needs to respect that.

Honestly though, i do not count G98 as a godzilla film but rather a monster movie of its own.

100% agree with the first reply by THE KING OF THE MONSTERS. I'll always like the '98 film simply because it was a huge part of my childhood, but '14 is my favorite. Don't be ashamed of your opinion dude. You shouldn't even care if people hate on it lol.
