MemberMothra LarvaeOct-06-2014 7:12 AMSo we already know now that King Ghidorah will be in one of the sequels..
So let's speculate on just what his origins may be.
Possible senarios include:
A monster that landed here on earth before the dawn of man and has been laying dormant somewhere possibly being unearthed and studied like it was done when they found Gigan in FINAL WARS and someone or something awakens him..
A monster who was born of this Earth and was considered an ALPHA PREDATOR second only to Godzilla who had run-ins with Godzilla, and were in a heated battle when the Earth was struck by meteor and caused them to retreat to safety..Only to be awakened by man's arrogance with a lust for blood and destruction that only Godzilla can stop..
An Alien race that created him to search the stars for life to enslave and when he came to earth centuries before he was struck by the after effects of the meteor, and sent hurling towards the moon where he lay dormant undisturbed by anyone for centuries..that is until Armstrong landed on the moon, and accidentally woke him and MONARCH knew and tried to keep his existence a secret by making Ghidorah avoid the Earth by using sonic waves that deterred him, and made him search elswhere for place to enslave only to be lured back to Earth by huge radioactive emissions that are coming from Godzilla..
The possiblities are endless when discussing Ghidorah...

MemberBaragonOct-06-2014 7:34 AMGood theories! What if the meteor/asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs and sent Godzilla and others deep into the earth actually carried Ghidorah? That may be your first theory.

MemberTitanosaurusOct-06-2014 7:36 AMI like the one where King Ghidorah is dormant on the moon, though the whole "created by aliens" thing doesn't sit well for that part. Astronauts finding him on the moon sounds like a good idea, though.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-06-2014 7:51 AMSounds like it could work. I just hope they don't retcon him like they did in GMK.

MemberGiganOct-06-2014 7:55 AMI dont know why you guys keep on saying, "One of the sequels" when thomas tull confirmed this is what they want for Godzilla 2, new monsters will be in the sequel.
The need a heavy hitter as soon as possible.
Good grief.

The only problem with bringing out Ghidorah in Godzilla 2 is that you're gonna have to follow up on that because Ghidorah is one of the most hype Godzilla monsters out there. Maybe if they made a mecha Godzilla for the third movie it would be a great follow up, bet they're really gonna have to blow everyone away.

MemberGiganOct-06-2014 11:07 AMAnd thats what they will do, there are tons of other incredibly powerful and famous Godzilla monsters.
Ghidorah is just one of them.
Good grief.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-06-2014 11:52 AMId say the 1s theory is Ok, the 3d not so much since Ghidorah is obouisly stronger than godzilla and if they lived at the same time the godzilla's would be extinct

MemberBaragonOct-06-2014 2:04 PM^Uhhhh......You ok there king of the monsters?
Anyway, he is coming from space. The most realistic way is that of the asteriods or comets. Like in 1964, when he first came to earth.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-06-2014 2:21 PMI could see Ghidorah coming from an asteroid. In my origin for him he is a cell from the asteroid that caused the Permain extinction and Ghidorah and then grew into Ghidorah after the asteroid hit and then went underground.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-06-2014 2:38 PM@BBB I'm just preparing for someone to angrily argue that Ghidorah being from space is unrealistic and say that he will be from Earth like it's a fact and not provide any reasoning to back it up other than "it's more realistic," and then insult anyone who doesn't agree with them. That's what happens every time this subject comes up.

MemberBaragonOct-06-2014 2:40 PM^Well, you do realize that when heated argumnets like that happen we mods and staff members lock the threads down right?
Just remember this king of the monsters, think twice before engaging. Ok? :)

The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeOct-06-2014 2:45 PMI'm just preparing for the worst. I'd welcome an intelligent debate about whether or not he could be from space rather than a heated argument, even though in my opinion he almost surely will be from space. There are reasons to worry that it could undermine the realism, but with Gareth's directorial skill and his approach to portraying these events as if they really could happen, I'm sure he will approach it in the right way.

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-07-2014 1:12 PMTruthfully speaking, I don't think 60's Sci-Fi ideas would sit well at all with mainstream audiences, so looking at this from a business perspective, I doubt they'll include anything of the sort. Although, I will say him arriving in the Permian asteroid would work pretty well, considering mysteries can be bought very well by the populace. Genetic mutations, aliens, and flying through space would be too much for the general populace, and me. Mysteries are easy to buy and believe in, but genetic mutations that happen in a single organism and not over time as EVERYONE knows science requires (we have a better understanding since what we knew in the 60's my friends) and aliens just don't sit well and aren't as marketable as mystery. Having Ghidorah arrive in the Permian asteroid, without any knowledge of how he survived, how he got there, or where he came from add this sense of fear, and not having a percise origin is certainly easier to believe and more marketable.
