It is kind of weird how they made the entire fight, yet hid it in the smoke.
I guess that is pretty cool in a way.
Good grief.

There are strong men and weak men. The strong ones are here to keep the weak ones up when ever they fail.

AdminGodzillaSep-11-2014 2:21 PMCool and it was an interesting experiment this go around, but I don't think that approach will work solely again.

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-11-2014 5:10 PMVery interesting featurette! Aside from the halo scene I didn't find the smoke to be that bad. Thing is, whenever there are huge cgi battle sequences like this there's either smoke (G2014) or a lot of rain (Pacific Rim). I know it helps the visuals and can sometimes save a lot of time but I hope they start experimenting with just letting the monsters shine. I thought the cgi looked perfectly fine at the end when Godzilla returned to the ocean and that was in broad daylight.
Also, I loved Gareths approach of everything being filmed so it looked like a camera man actually filmed it. I like when films show cgi moments in ways that are humanly possible instead of crazy angles that can't actually be done. IMO it makes the film feel grounded.

MemberBaragonSep-11-2014 5:49 PMVery cool! It looked like it was seriously cut off at the end, so I bet we see this clip and more as special features on the upcoming home video versions!

MemberBaragonSep-11-2014 6:38 PMI remember him saying before the movie came out there wouldn't be any "bird eye views" and most would look like they came from people

TarrellZilla
MemberMothra LarvaeSep-11-2014 7:03 PM^ Birds eye view angles can be done by mounting a camera on a helicopter.

Durp004
MemberBaragonSep-11-2014 7:08 PMThat's not exactly what I was getting at.
In past movies when the monsters fight, the view is level with them making it a viewpoint only a bird would see. Gareth addresses this and said in his movie it would be from people's perspecitive instead of those kind of shots.

MemberMothra LarvaeSep-12-2014 4:19 PMI can't watch it either. It won't let me watch it because I'm trying to watch it through the American site( I'm in Aus btw). So I go to the australia MTV site and they don't have it. If someone could do something to try and help with this issue I'm sure everyone who can't watch it would greatly appreicate it.
