Godzilla is King!
MemberMothra LarvaeAug-11-2014 8:01 PMWith the announcement of skull island every Godzilla fan has wondered, could Godzilla vs King Kong actually happen?(I don't think it could I mean it sounds to eh you know)

Godzilla316
MemberAnguirusAug-11-2014 11:56 PMNope. Never should happen. Would totally ruin the LegendaryGoji!!!!! They should be kept in separate universes

MemberAnguirusAug-12-2014 5:30 AMAlso the New Kong is probably 80-100 ft tall. Him fighting Godzilla would be like me fighting my kitten. She can bite and scratch me all she likes, but she wont do real damage, and if i wanted to, i could kill her with one swipe....
The only difference is that she is too cute to be hurt in anyway and i could never hurt her, even if i wanted, but Kong on the other hand, Godzilla would smash his face with pleasure

MemberTitanosaurusAug-12-2014 6:17 AMActually, Godzilla316, the new Kong is in a prequel origin movie, and I think it's in the same continuity as Peter Jackson's King Kong, meaning he'll be at most 25 feet tall, perhaps even smaller.

MemberGiganAug-12-2014 6:30 AMNo. Just no. Godzilla would squish Kong in seconds.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-12-2014 8:37 AMIf they tie it into the current Planet of the Apes franchise also, and make Kong super smart, and he builds MechaniKong, and pilots it himself, and then fights Godzilla... WE HAVE A MOVIE!

The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeAug-12-2014 9:26 AMI'm pretty sure thay said that this film has no connection to Peter Jackson's 2005 King Kong remake. That being said, IF they increase Kong's size in Skull Island to close to 300 feet, then I think they can make a new King Kong vs. Godzilla. But if he remains the same size, then I think there is no reason to cross the two films over.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-12-2014 9:52 AMI would love to see kong vs godzilla on the big screen no NO's about it
There are strong men and weak men. The strong ones are here to keep the weak ones up when ever they fail.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-13-2014 11:41 AMThis really should be a no-brainer... of course it could happen, they just have to have Godzilla fight a scaled-up Kong. Does no one remember that there was already a King Kong vs. Godzilla?

MemberBaragonAug-13-2014 11:43 AM^and it did very well for the series.
I think like 4 companies share the rights of the monsters so getting 4 companies to agree to make a movie with them would be really hard, but it's possible, just not likely.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-13-2014 9:44 PMI really, really hope so but yes; only if King Kong is scaled back up to about Godzilla's height or if he has his trademark power back in the original King Kong vs Godzilla movie to gain height by feeding on electricity. That could work too given he gains enough height.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-14-2014 5:23 AMI hope it doesn't happen, because it makes no sense at all. Godzilla is over 300 ft tall, where as King Kong is what? 25, 50 feet at best. There would be no compitition. All Godzilla would have to do is step on Kong and squash him.
However, and I stand by this, "IF" they were to take them both out of their worlds and place them in a world where they are around the same size and weight, Kong would beat the shit out of Godzilla.
But because I love both of them, I would rather they just let them be. Godzilla rules his world and King Kong rules his. Lets just make more movies with both of them, but not together.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-14-2014 8:54 AMGodzilla would squish king kong in matter fo seconds. However, if they were the same size godzilla would still win. Godzilla is smart and is a lot stromnger than the dinosaurs we see in king kong movie. Godzilla has faster reflexes as well and learns very well. For example we see this in the battle between godzilla and muto. He knew what muto was going to do and we see his fast reflexes. Also, atomic breath would destroy king kong even if king kong tried to tear apart godzilla mouth. Also, not to forget godzilla also can use his arms, their not small like before.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-28-2014 8:44 PMThe new King Kong movie is a prequel to King Kong's own story as a 25 foot Gorilla. There is no crossover potential despite the fact that both franchises are being made by Legendary. Kong's lore would have to be thrown out and once you do that he's not really King Kong anymore. You can name him King Kong, but without the original lore of a 25 foot Gorilla being captured and taken to new York where he's killed on the Empire State building, it's not really King Kong.
Legendary, an American company no less, is not going to trash Kong's original lore just to satisfy the concept of renewing King Kong vs. Godzilla. Toho only got away with it because they are not an American company and they tossed Kong's original lore and made him a precursor to Mothra. He's a guardian/god of Faore Island with a cult of worshippers, lacking only the Shobijin.
Kong is not coming to the Legendary Godzilla franchise, ever.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-29-2014 7:13 AMToho's Kong was not a precourser to Mothra, because Mothra's debut movie came out in 1961, one year before King Kong vs. Godzilla. Why don't you check facts for yourself before you constantly go around correcting everyone, insulting their intelligence, and trying to ruin people's hopes for future movies?
