MemberMothra LarvaeAug-11-2014 3:23 PMI apologize for this stupid therory I have but It has been in my mind since the anouncement of the Toho Kaijus. I honestly thought that this is very unlikely to happen but there's always a possibility.
But for some reason I have this vision of Godzilla, King Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan all weak from trying to kill other and all of a sudden an army of newly hatched MUTOs appear. Then the four them are forced to work together to survive.
But I love the idea of the whole 'Team Toho VS. Team MUTO'.
I'm also open to the possiblity of Legendary creating an entirely original Kaiju in addition to the classic Toho monsters. Who knows, maybe King Ghidorah's not really set up as the ultimate villain after all.
They did an AMAZING job with the MUTOs in the first film it's too good to pass up. They even have a different MUTO in the movie's comicbook prequel Godzilla Awakening.
If they make an original Kaiju, it'll be awesome if they will make it three or four times bigger than the other monsters and it turns out it's above Godzilla in the whole radioactive foodchain and also out to hunt Ghidorah, Mothra and Rodan as well.
But at the same time I REALLY wanted the sequel to focus moreon the classic Toho monsters. Maybe the theories I've written above can work in the third sequel and if the Kaijus get to live through the second film.
Anyway, what do you guys think, do you want the big four to face off against an army of MUTOs or an even bigger and powerful Kaiju or would you just rather have them face each other?

MemberBaragonAug-11-2014 5:07 PMI don't think they'd get a monster like Ghidorah and then have a muto be the secret boss enemy. I don't think it would sit well with the fans or general populace. It's like if they made a batman movie with joker then had them work together to stop one random henchman.

AdminGodzillaAug-11-2014 5:18 PMI think the only time I'd like to see the MUTO again is if Godzilla's hunting one or two down like they're cannon fodder. Kind of like Gamera did with the Gyaos in Gamera 3. And then a more powerful enemy be revealed much tougher than the MUTO... like King Ghidorah.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-11-2014 5:20 PMI question why people keep bringing the M.U.T.O.s into everything. People keep wanting monsters like Mothra and Gigan (though I must admit with Gigan it could work) to be related to the M.U.T.O.s or want them to return as the main villains in the sequels. Honestly, I think Legendary is done with the M.U.T.O.s. They served their purpose, and now Legendary has the rights to other Toho kaiju and are moving on.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-11-2014 6:28 PMYeah I feel like this film is going to have the same approach Ghidorah The Three Headed Monster had. Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra will be against each other but when KG touches down they team up. That, or there is just going to be a 4 way throwdown that will leave humanity in ashes :)

I feel like the day I see Godzilla and King Ghidorah working together is the day a pig decides to fly. Mothra and Rodan, maybe. But I doubt the two kings are gonna like each other much.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-12-2014 10:02 AMThey have made Ghidorah a good guy In the old films. I think Toho told Lengardary don't turn ghidorah good. But maybe if Toho ever makes a new film we might see that

AdminGodzillaAug-12-2014 10:50 AMI remember reading some words from the IDW comic writers, that Toho mandated Godzilla and King Ghidorah always be enemies. Toho considers Godzilla and King Ghidorah foils to each other and arch-enemies. I'm pretty positive the rule would still apply for Legendary. It doesn't matter which side Godzilla and King Ghidorah are on as long as they're fighting.

The King of the Monsters
MemberMothra LarvaeAug-12-2014 10:57 AMExactly. And since Godzilla has already been established as the protagonist monster, I have no doubt Legendary will choose to portray Ghidorah as a villain. The only reason Toho ever protrayed Ghidorah as a hero was because his role in GMK was initially written for Varan, but Toho replaced him with Ghidorah for marquee value.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-13-2014 4:46 PMYup! I agree. I can't picture Godzilla and King Ghidorah getting along at all, it also includes Rodan and Mothra. Especially if Legendary's going to reinvent them and do a more realistic take on them as animals and being a different species from one another, yeah, the four will not exactly be BFFs. I think it'll be a fourway battle. But about that whole theory with the army of MUTOs, I have to acknowledge that Asian end credits from the first movie with Mothra commanding them, which to this day I haven't seen yet and it's so hard to find so I'm still questioning it's credibility. And why is Mothra being all chummy with them? And about the people still talking about the MUTOs... I don't like them but I'm sorry, they've gotten really popular.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-13-2014 10:57 PMThat end credits rumor was complete BS created by a website that makes a living by writing fake stories about movies. I don't know why people still refer to it while we have established repeatedly on every website that it isn't true. I'm pretty sure that even Legendary made a statement about it saying it was completely false.
