MemberTitanosaurusAug-02-2014 5:06 PMWill the design change for Godzilla 2? It isn't uncommon for the design to change between movies. If the design changes, I hope they make the sails larger and more jagged. But really, I hope they make the eyes bigger. They just seem so small compared to the rest of him.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-02-2014 11:51 PMYeah, maybe just small modifications, like @DUPROO4 said. I would also like his spines and eyes to be bigger. I would also like his teeth and arms to be bigger and small modifications to the roar (although I loved it).

"I don't think so... It sounds bigger. It sounds like death; the destroyer of worlds...."

AdminGodzillaAug-03-2014 1:49 AMI agree there might be slight differences, but nothing that would be as drastic as some of the suit changes from the series. Personally, I hope there are some noticable differences, for the sake of fun.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-03-2014 5:34 AMThe only changes I would be in favor of is changing the feet into heisei 90's Godzilla, and changing the dorsil fins into heisei 90's Godzilla.

MemberGiganAug-03-2014 6:42 AMWell, probably a couple slight changes.

MemberGiganAug-03-2014 7:20 AMThis Godzilla was perfect the way he was, he exuded power! How many Godzillas have had you at every seen getting chills! One thing that shows how much of a fanboy you guys are is wanting things to change, Godzilla doesnt need Jagged Spines, he doesnt need bigger feet and teeth! And his roar was perfect it was easily one of the best in the whole series! It was diffrent and isnt diffrent good?
Good grief.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-03-2014 8:22 AMI second Maggle. I enjoy the design the way it is. But even in the Transformers franchise, the robot designs have been slightly changing over the films, so it wouldn't surprise me if they change Godzilla's. Personally I just want them to get rid of the gills.

AdminGodzillaAug-03-2014 11:29 AMGorillaGodzilla,
Yout reply is a little self-righteous on your part. Your comments are equally fanboy relevant torward the new design as others are for the old. For example, some people wanted the new design to look exactly like the 90s for the same, exact, indulgent reasons you like about the new one.
The fact is Godzilla's look has always changed over the years and having it tweaked would be in line with franchise norms. I like the new design, but it isn't perfect, nor is it the quintessential Godzilla design. The most appealing thing about it is that it is recognizably Godzilla. Other than that, there's more interesting and iconic looks in his 60 year repertoire.

MemberGiganAug-03-2014 1:48 PMGman- Yes but in a stationary Godzilla series other than showa they basically kept the same design! In all of heisei he had that exact same design! In Godzilla vs megaguirus till Tokyo s.o.s. he had the same design basically! Thats why its pure fanboyism to want the character to change what was already given for this new series. Also Gman you never answered my question on if you like the Godzilla 2014 Godzilla or not?
Good grief.

AdminGodzillaAug-03-2014 2:21 PMI assume you're talking about the creature, but yes I like both the movie and the monster very much. Do I think the 2014 monster represents the best incarnation of the series? No, it's not the best version and it was never going to be. But that wasn't the important part. What's important is that it looks, acts and feels like Godzilla-- and he did.
Like everything about the new film, he strikes me as one of the more middle-ground incarnations in [movie] quality, power and design. For example, I view it somewhat similarly to the 1968-1971 Godzilla; it wasn't the best design, it wasn't the strongest version and it wasn't in the series' best films. But it is inherently Godzilla and the movies the '68-'71 design were in were fun despite their flaws.
To add, the Heisei design did change over once from 1984 to 1989 and after 1989 the design went through minor changes. (Eye color, chest size, thigh positioning) And while the Kiryu Godzilla shares similar design elements with the suit from Godzilla 2000 / Godzilla vs. Megaguirus it's still a different design. You also forget that the GMK design was between them.
Now I don't think Legendary is going to change much, if anything, since they spent so much time agreeing on a look for Godzilla. But it's not inconceivable to think there may be minor tweaks. Bumblebee and Optimus had minor design changes in each Transformers movie. The dinosaurs in Jurassic Park all went through slight changes throughout the first three movies. The xenomorph in the Alien films have been tweaked in every single movie they're in. Godzilla's design has been changed and tweaked for 60 years and if the consistancy of other movie franchises take liberty with thier creatures, so can Legendary's Godzilla.

MemberMothra LarvaeAug-03-2014 8:18 PMThere is no need to update his design, its fine the way it is. Even if theres something about the design that doesn't seem right, if it ain't broken don't fix it because if you do you'll **** it up even more

MemberBaragonAug-04-2014 2:43 PMIf they do they will only make a few tweaks here and there but other than that i liked the new design for what it was. :)
