Godzilla 2 characters

I wouldn't mind if ATJ and Olsen came back, but as side characters. I think Serizowa should take center stage with some new characters.

I feel like the story should go around Elle Brody more. She was a fantastic character when she did appear, and I feel like more movies need a main character who isn't the normal "sexy bada** girl with a gun." but actually normal. This new Godzilla universe tries to be grounded in the characters, see things from their point of view. We now have seen Godzilla from the point of view of someone from the military, now I want to see it from the point of view of a nurse, who has to treat those injured by the last battle.

Maybe the course of the sequel(s) should be to focus on a different character, to see how Godzilla and friends affect different people.

Eh. I'd like to see Aaron Taylor Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, and Ken Watanabe to come back. The rest of the (human) characters I don't care if they're in the sequel or not.

Like most have said, Ken Wantanabe should definitely come back, and be given a lot more focus and screentime than the first film. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen's characters returning with more minor roles would be cool, but I wouldn't care much if they didn't come back at all; if they are going to be major characters again, then they'd better find a way to make them a hell of a lot more interesting. Aside from that, David Strathairn and Sally Hawkins should, naturally, also return, given that Serizawa would obviously have a lot of interaction with their characters. Overall, I think it would be best to have a new main character (probably a civilian rather than a soldier this time, since they would tend to have more interesting reactions to a big disaster like a monster attack) and keep Serizawa as a main character + give him more screen time, or even just make him the main character.

I would like to see Serizawa, Graham and Admiral Stenz return.

I would like to have some insight as to the workings and history of Monarch, since they were a major player in the conspiracy to conceal Godzilla from the world. Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins should get really well-written parts in the sequel, and not just exposition. I feel that they need to be involved in a decision that has far reaching consequences in the next story.

If Godzilla is somewhat of an adversary, a threat in the next film, Admiral Stenz should be at the center of the attempt to mitigate the damage he causes. David Strathairn was very convincing in the first film. Sometimes, it was just a look, or a reaction by him to the events and reports as they cascaded in.
