List of species:
Giant Spiked Ankylosaurs ( Anguirus) Status: Harmless unless provoked
Giant Pteranodons (Rodans) Harmlesa unless provoked
MUTOs Parasites which cause havoc
Shinomura Parasitea which cause havox
Giant three headed dragon(King Ghidorah), a few came in smaller asteroids before the Permian, and started to kill Godzilla species and become the new apex predators
Zillas, 200 ft tall piscivores, one of the smaller predators who usually run away from fights, a few specimens grow to 300 ft and are alot more like the Godzilla species. (Zilla jr. reference)
Godzillas, top of the exosystem, apex predators.
Giant Moths, harmless unless provoked, sometimes fights alongside Godzillas against common threats
thats all I can think of for now :)

MemberMothra LarvaeJun-29-2014 11:58 AMAll this is basically right if these monsters were included in the legendary series except for ghidorah.

MemberTitanosaurusJun-29-2014 11:59 AMAll good, but King Ghidorah was a space monster, not a earth monster.
You should add Baragon, Varan, Manda, Kumonga, Titanosaurus, (possibly) Megaguirus, and Gorosaurus to the list.

Godzilla isn't even a dinosaur in the new movie.

MemberAnguirusJun-29-2014 12:37 PMIf you read Godzilla: Awakening, the Permian asteroid landed in close proximity to him, and I thought I might as well make Ghidorah an earth monster. KINGKAIJUGOJIRA, I put most of the monsters which I pay more attention too but could still be Earth Monsters

MemberMothra LarvaeJun-29-2014 9:16 PM@AKAGI Just how much of the prequel comic is canon is... debatable, considering how much it contradicts the film. They could easily just ignore what the comic says about his backstory in any of the sequels.
As for the OP, all of those classic monsters would fit nicely in the Legendary universe, but, unless they gradually introduce crazy things like aliens over the course of the series (and it would need to be longer than a trilogy to do that), Ghidorah should probably be the alpha predator from a different time period than Godzilla if it's going to even more powerful than him (so he could keep the title of King of the Monsters), or the sole competitor of Godzilla's species if they're going to be equals like in the Heisei film.
