MemberGiganJun-28-2014 6:28 AMIm gonna say......:1.... i think either Biollante or Anguirus. Because Gareth is going with a more realism element. And those seem the most real to me, Post your opinions and thoughts!
Good grief.

MemberMothra LarvaeJun-28-2014 1:23 PMI feel like it's gonna be Mothra. I'm not sure how they'll do it, but that was the only monster that had multiple easter eggs in the film.

Legendary is rumored to have bought the rights to Mothra, Rodan, King Ghidorah and Anguirus. While it's not impossible for them to have bought others since then they will likely stick to the more popular names. Of them Mothra is most recognizable.

MemberBaragonJun-28-2014 3:01 PMWhat suddenly spurred the amount of people vying for Biollante in the sequel. Seems like the numbers increased quite a bit just from Chris posting a fan art of the G014 Godzilla vs Biollante.

MemberMothra LarvaeJun-28-2014 3:06 PMDURP004, I'm pretty sure that's what got people thinking. That fan art was just amazing and got everyone thinking. I think Biollante would be the perfect monter for a sequel since G vs Biollante is arguably one of the best movies for the Big G and my favorite for the heisi series.

MemberMothra LarvaeJun-28-2014 7:03 PMAnguirus. Anguirus is already a dinosaur in his original origins so just make him an ancient animal that lived during Godzilla's time and perfect. Also imagine a fight between Godzilla and Biollante and then Anguirus comes in and starts rolling on Biollante and shreds her vines to help Godzilla. Boom, just spoiled the ending of the 2nd movie. Sorry.

TW_G-Fan2014
MemberMothra LarvaeJun-28-2014 10:03 PMIt's not going to be a Toho Kaiju unless Legendary actually acquired the rights to them.
Seriously, just stop with all the Toho stuff. It's completely disrespectful to Toho.
"Hey Toho! We made a successful movie without your help other than using Godzilla's name and creating our own version of him with your input, but in order to succeed in the future we have to rip off of your hard work and steal the monsters that you made because we just don't have what it takes to make it work without ripping off of you. Care to contribute?"
That's basically what you're saying every time you say they'll use a Toho monster. You're saying that Legendary can't succeed without ripping off of Toho's success and ripping off of the monsters they turned into success stories.
Legendary can succeed on its own, and for you to continually say they HAVE to use Toho monsters is not only disrespectful to Toho, but to Legendary as well. They succeeded on their own this time, and they can do so again. Just let it happen and stop all the Toho nonsense. Please. It's so old already and I can't help but roll my eyes at everyone who says "a Toho monster will be in the next movie!" It's just pathetic.

AdminGodzillaJun-29-2014 2:26 AMTW_G-Fan2014,
I think you need to get over the fact that fans of Godzilla are going to speculate over the possibility of Toho monsters being used no matter what. I understand you have some great disdain for the idea of a sequel using Toho's monsters, but as far as fan speculation goes that's simply the obvious topic to have.
As for your assumption of what people are "saying" whenever they assume Legendary may use a Toho monster-- That's a fairly narrow sighted statement and one that immediately puts words in other fans' mouths. Not to mention it doesn't make a lot of sense.
By your logic Legendary shouldn't have used Godzilla to begin with and simply made their own, original monster flick. And I highly doubt Toho has any qualms or feel like using one of their monsters is disrespectful. Or a "rip off".
Ripping off insinuates that Legendary has stolen some sort of idea or trademark without acknowledging its influence or paying royalties. I assure you Legendary would pay to use another monster if they wished and Toho would be more than pleased to accept the check for it. It's hardly disrespectful to Toho. I imagine they're probably crossing their fingers one of their monsters will be in it.
Otherwise, the only nonsensical thing happening in this thread, and others like it, is having the audacity to tell fans they should stop talking about the possibility; along with carrying the arrogance to tell them what they're "really saying" when they suggest such a thing.

MemberMothra LarvaeJun-29-2014 6:39 AMIt's easier to speculate what TOHO monster could be in the next movie instead of guessing what the next original monster will be named, look like, and what abilities it will have.

MemberMothra LarvaeJun-29-2014 6:52 AMI would love to see Angurius. He has move than deserved to be a part of a film of this magnitude. Rodan would be fine with me if he looked a lot like his original look from his first film, the rest of rodan suits looked like crap to me. Ghidorah and Biollante I'm ok with, but Mothra is so overplayed, I don't care to see her, just my opinion.

MemberMothra LarvaeJun-29-2014 10:56 PMI think they should have two monsters. One Toho and one original. Or three monsters. Either two Toho and one original or two original and 1 Toho.
as for my monster picks:
Biollante
anguirus
king ghidorah
mechagodzilla
rodan
(not a huge mothra fan XD)

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-01-2014 1:30 PMMy vote, as far as Toho monsters are concerned, would be for:
King Ghidorah
Anguirus
Rodan
The potential for the havoc and destruction caused by menacing, high-wind producing giant monsters can scarcely be measured.
Maybe Angirus could be an ally (or sorts) of Godzilla.
King Ghidorah and Rodan would be bad guys. I mean, really, really bad guys.
As far as designs go, I like the original 1956 Rodan, and the King Ghidorah from the 1998 Mothra 3 film.

Jamaal
MemberMothra LarvaeJul-01-2014 1:45 PMOh, and one more thing: King Ghidorah should have his gravity beams.
Do you remember what Keizer Ghidorah did with them to Godzilla in Godzilla Final Wars?

I like the discussion here. This has been quite a year. Or four years.
I think Thomas Tull made the right decision regarding director.
I've seen the film eight times.
Looking forward to the angst-driven run up to the sequel.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-04-2014 12:31 PM1. King Ghidora. I think everyone loves Ghidora as an enemy and he's probably the most widely known enemy of Godzilla besides Mothra (who honestly, I would hate to see in the sequel). But he probably won't be an alien if this is the case, they'd have to come up with something new.
2. Mothra. Unfortunately this is really likely, and easy to do. I don't like Mothra. i hope they use something else. Moving on.
3. Biollante. Super easy story, someone mixes Godzilla's DNA with a rosebush, but much more complicated process than what they had in the original film obviously. Or, my friend suggested that the male MUTO may not have been the obly thing absorbing radiation in Janjira, and that Biollante could be there. Who knows?
4. SpaceGodzilla. Hear me out. He was an amazing enemy, and in the sequel, he wouldn't have to be from space. He could be another member of Godzilla's genus, but maybe not same species, so they look similar, but not the same, and different powers too, like in the classic movie. And they could fight over SpcaeGodzilla moving in on what Godzilla thinks is his territory.
Those are what I think are the most likely, and conveniently, my most wanted enemies.
