Should There Have Been a Post-Credits Scene?

Should there have been a post-credits scene? I know the director doesn't like them but I personally would have loved to see something after the credits. If I were to make a post credits scene, I would make it like this:

Credits finish rolling, 10 YEARS LATER appears on screen. Camera pans down to Dr. Serizawa (Or just a random scientist) sitting at a desk with a computer behind them. The camera begins to focus on the computer. This appears on the computer:

Then the screen cuts to black and that's it.

So if you guys were to make a post-credits scene for Godzilla, what would it be? And do you like my idea?

I would've loved an after credits scene that only major G fans knew, just to leave the audience confused (I love when super hero movies do that). I'm not sure what it would be though. I'd love a scene that's similar to the Godzilla Tokyo SOS ending. The camera eases back to reveal a Monarch lab with a collection of monster DNA adding Godzilla cells to the mix.

This is my idea:
Credits finish rolling, 3 MONTHS appears in the screen. The setting is a dark cave, some scientists explore, until one detects a strong level of radiation targeting only one direction, walk towards that direction and find an egg, scientists are close to examine it, but the shell is broken and then the screen cuts to black and a roar is heard ...

That idea is awesome! Like it's a Monarch lab and it shows a bunch of canisters with DNA labeled "Ghidorah" and other monster names!

DarkChief:

That would be interesting, but that already happened at the beginning of the movie itself, so I don't know.

here's a idea , godzilla heads into a undergruond cave and a nuclear submarine attempts to launch a nuclear missile at him , and godzilla swims out to stop it as the screen goes black

A post credits scene would have been interesting, but I don't know... I'm actually kind of glad that Gareth put his focus on this movie, because even though I would have loved something at the end that lead to a sequel, if the movie didn't do well enough, we would be left hanging, and what was started would never be finished. Plus, I'm actually excited to see what, if any, Toho monster(s) will be in the next movie, and a post credits scene may or may not have revealed it. And, let's face it- say the sequel monster was King Ghidorah, for example, we would all be dying to see his new design for the next film, and it's going to be awhile before they release the next movie or even give us news and everything, so as a fan, I'm a bit grateful. XD

I stuck around for one, and it would have been cool, kinda, I like the teasers but I hate waiting through them with people that don't care for teasers and just want to leave and I understand that, but if there was one alluding to a sequel or just another shot of Godzilla, I would have loved it also.

We see some sailors out at sea. They're working on a cargo ship that's making way towards Japan. We hear the end of a strange monster's powerful roar, reminescent to the Golden Gate Bridge incident. The sailors start panicing and the ship starts changing route immeaditly after picking up a large object.

We suddenly see fish-like fins heading towards the boat and soon a head rising out of the water. A strange sea monster looks at the boat with a menacing look in his eyes. He purposefully grabs the boat and destroys it.

We hear the monster's full roar, before it goes into the water and slowly head towards Tokyo Bay, we see a strange fish-like tail which is webbed at the end. We then see the monster slowly poking it's head out of the water, but before we can get a really good glimpse, everything goes black.

We then see these words:

???????

"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."

Here's my idea. It's a bit simple, old-fashioned perhaps, but here is goes: The last of the credits scroll upwards and the screen goes black. It's silent for a moment. And a moment further. And just when you believe that end credits only belong in Marvel Studios' movies... you walk out of the theater and perhaps take a bathroom break on your way back to the car.

I waited and would have like to see something. Just another let down, albeit a small one. You guys have some really great ideas though. Some of your ideas are more interesting than the actual movie.
