Hello there. After having had the distinct pleasure of watching Godzilla 2014, I sat down for a little while within my favorite cocktail bar to calm my beating heart with an appletini and piece of cheesecake. As I did so, I thought back upon the film and realized that Mankind awoke Godzilla in 1954 because he assumed we were MUTOs or another creature he normally hunts and destroys. The MUTO creatures themselves utilize echolocation as a means to communicate - the very sounds Godzilla picked up on to hunt them down. What do submarines use to map their surroundings and locate objects? Echolocation - radar pings. I'm likely not the first to think of this - I might very well be bringing up something that's already been discussed at length. However, I greatly enjoyed coming to that conclusion after having seen the film. It felt like a little reward! As always, your thoughts and conjecture with regards to this topic are most appreciated, even if you choose to keep them to yourself. :)

Yes actually!, that does explain quite a bit! That last fight though! Even if your all for the human side and story you gotta hand it to them! It was INCREDIBLE!! Back on topic however, yes I think you have the truth of it here, he probably emerged because of the likeness to the mutos!

EVAN123 - Indeed! The final confrontation was spectacular! I absolutely love how Godzilla finished-off the femal MUTO - extremely brutal! Another aspect I enjoyed was the fact that Godzilla seemed so very, hmm, human. He pauses to take a deep breath after dealing with the male MUTO, letting us know that he's becoming winded after the sound thrashing the MUTOs gave him and the sheer amount of effort he's putting into the battle. Then, after he's killed the female MUTO, he collapses from exhaustion! That was beautiful! it really made Godzilla seem like a living being - prone to the same pain and moments of weakness we all experience. :)

Yes! The death of the female was one of the most amazing cg sequences ever made, the entire brawl was! I was on the verge of tears in the cinema, I saw it in 2d so this Sunday I'll be watching it in IMAX 3d, CAN'T WAIT!

EVAN123 - Hahaha! I shant, sweetie. I'm in good health. I just start to experience heart palpatations when Godzilla's around - it's a normal reaction. ;)

godzilla was mean, aggresive, and very brutal in this movie and i loved it. :)

As for the topic something real, mmmm i don't think so, i think godzilla was just doing what he needed to do, plus the scene where ford comes face to face with the king, was increadible. Godzilla did one thing he has never done in any other movie, and that was when done fighting and killing the female muto, he was so worn out that he layed down. O_O

That was interesting to see him do that, plus when serizawa, and sally hawkins character are looking at him, everyone thought oh that's it he is dead, but nope he sent out that breath of air, opened his eyes, and got back up on his feet. GREAT MOVIE. :)
