So like the title of this thread, SPOILERS AHEAD.

What did you guys think about the Mutos in the film? I'm talking about how they acted towards eachtoher, their design, and their nature.

I loved their design, which fits so well into the rogue kaiju class. I thought it was really sweet on how they cherished eachother as mates, and it also gave you a feel of sympathy when they die. Their nature though, I view as sort of a parasitic organism that feeds off of radiation, albeit they live off of radiation from nuclear plants, while Godzilla seemed content living off of radiation from the planet's core.

Be yourself, for everyone else is taken.

This post also contains spoilers.

I wasn't sure how I felt about them when I first saw the toy designs revealed awhile ago, mainly due to thinking they resembled the Cloverfield monster's anatomy too closely. While watching the movie yesterday night, however, the MUTOS really started to grow on me. I guess getting to see them move and interact with each other and Godzilla made me see them as unique and interesting kaiju.

It was so cute when they nuzzled their faces together when they met in San Francisco. I was like "awwwwwwww." And when the mommy MUTO's babies were destroyed and she looked so distraught, I felt really sad for her. Those offspring would have destroyed the planet, so they had to go, but I felt sorry for their mommy because she seemed to sad and upset.

The MUTOs overall had some strangely touching moments that I really appreciated. I really liked them, more than I thought I would.

I didn't like the movie, but, I did like the Mutos. Good name for a band:)

I thought they were interesting. I wasn't into the husband and wife thing going on.

I have this thing about a bunch of eggs and Godzilla, probably has to do with '98

Overall, they were very interesting. I wish there were more of them in the movie.

The EMP was a very good idea. They seemed "alien" to me.

Is it just me, or does anyone else speculating that after the final fight Godzilla collapsesinto what seems to be a hibernative type of sleep. Then comes to with a big sniff... Almost as if he senses a new muto is around. Cause as far as this movie is concerned, Godzillas only purpose is to exterminate these threats. It could be just the fan boy in me wanting more, but there is plenty of possibilities for new mutos popping up. I mean they only recovered 1 nuke off that train so who knows where or what my be in possession of them lol

One quick question about the mutos

*SPOILERS*

Ok, so at the start of the movie when the Monarch team are in the cavern with the massive skeleton thing, you see the 2 egg things. Only one muto came from it. Now, skip to the end of the movie where the femuto has payed the egg thing. You can clearly see hundreds of little mutolings. So here is the question, why does only one muto hatch from the egg thing at the start of the movie?

BASSCAPTAIN- I didn't even think of that! Awesome theory! I'm gonna write that down as the first theory for a possible sequel!

With that theory in mind, I'm thinking that maybe that centipede monster in the teaser trailer could be the next enemy! and that clip could be used for the sequel!!

*SPOILER ALERT* but when Ford was releasing the fuel to blow up the eggs, they did a close up of the broken head of a chinese dragon statue. Which makes me think that, tthat was a hint towards King Ghidorah possibly being in the sequel! but maybe that was just a reference to him....

You know a director is good, when he makes you feel empathy for the bad guys in the film. For once, the Monsters Godzilla faced seemed like just animals. I know that sentence sounds funny, but you know what I mean; in previous Godzilla films, the enemies had charisma and human-like characteristics, like Godzilla himself.

I feel like Gareth did a superb job making the MUTO seem natural and real. I honestly felt bad for them, and Godzilla at the same time, haha. Strange isn't it? But that's good directing, when he can pull your emotions in any direction.

As for the MUTO design - loved it. Their "call"/"roar", also loved it. The male / female relationship and differences, also loved. I just loved this movie from start to finish, not much else to say. Hahaha God, I need to trim my review down before I post it. There's just so much to talk about.

May just be at different stages of there development, they were deemed as parasites and if your host dies they well normally leave or die... Bit in this case they just kind of hibernated.

Godzilla'swrath,

I noticed that too, but I don't know how they can incorporate the planet x monsters, ie gigan o r king, but I suppose if the can incorporate an emp Generating muto, maybe gigans saw isn't that far fetched lol

DERPY BATTRA - I absolutley adored the MUTOs. When I saw them nuzzle as the male presented his little nuclear gift to the female, my heart melted a little for them. I definately found them to be a fascinating species - their design, sound, and mannersism were a joy to watch! I felt extremely bad for the babies and their momma whan Ford burned the nest. I knew the babies would have spelled a global disaster, but it still tugged upon my heart. :)

What great monster the MUTOs are. What I loved about them (and godzilla) in this movie is that they felt real more then a genreic monster hell bent on doing whatever from the older movies, that is one of the reason why I love this movie so much.

MAGGLESHACKLE - Indeed! The MUTOs had a presence to them that made them feel as if they had purpose. They weren't simply monsters - they were living creatures attempting to continue their species. This is exactly why it made me so very sad when the babies were killed. :(

They were beautifully designed, they moved and behaved like animals that really did exist!i know this seems weird but I liked them more than godzilla, their mating calls, roars, shrieks, everything were incredible! I felt so sorry for them though, they were just a mating pair of animals trying to survive in a world they don't know, that part where they nuzzle was just captivating!

How far can we push nature before it pushes back?

I got a bit angry when the little muto snuck up behind godzilla and they took him down but when godzilla got up and smacked it into the building then pulled the other ones head off i felt better. I also felt kind of bad for the female when godzilla was about to stomp it and it was just looking up at him.

The MUTO design was pretty cool. Didn't blow me out of the water, but certainly acceptable. My problem is that I ended up feeling bad for them. Instead of feeling great that Godzilla put a smack down on an evil monster bent on world domination, I felt like he killed a family. Like others have said, I know it had to be done as per the story, but that's not the story I would have chosen. Now you can call me low brow, but I don't need that much of a "great" story, where I gotta feel for every single character. I don't need my heart strings being tugged at in the name of a good story. It's Godzilla. Give me a villian that's badass, and fun. I know some people like this angle, but it left me leaving the theater with a bad taste in my mouth.

I totally agree @Thepike. I like how the MUTOs were given some more emotional quality to them, but I don't think it resonated well with the theme of what Godzilla is supposed to be. I don't even feel like I watched a Godzilla movie, just a movie with Godzilla in it, but not about Godzilla. The MUTOs weren't even created or summoned because of humanity, they were just there and managed to hatch after millions of years of existence. It was just more a case of they were there at the wrong place at the wrong time.
