....I was wondering, what was the weirdest question that you ever came across from a person who had little-to-no-idea who Godzilla was?
My friend once asked me if Godzilla could fly, to which I reacted with a quiet WTF...so I said NO
....and a few moments I remembered this though,so...any experiences???
My sister (Ellie)...." Godzilla is that big gorilla isn't he?"
WTF !!!!!!!!!
I know! I nearly wet myself listening to her! She's 14!
whoah! That's surprising.....did not expect that from someone her age, she's only a year younger than me
Well, hopefully the new movie which comes out in JUST 2 DAYS will introduce to people who the Big G really is...
Ya...she amm...does not really like sci-fi!
ohh...Oh well....still loads of other new people who are already interested in the movie, we'll enjoy the movie, and those people get to discover Godzilla like never before
People have asked, "Godzilla is that big lizard that attacked New York, right?"
"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self." - Ernest Hemingway.
GOJIRA2k I know that....
"Godzilla? Isn't that the monster from the Roland Emmerich film?"
-.-
I write this on a piece of paper
"Godzilla, the king of the monsters. The most powerful and most dangerous kaiju of them all."
Person looks over my shoulder.
"Godzilla's not a kaiju."
Me
"Kaiju is Japenese for monster."
him
"You mean like in pacific rim?"
My thoughts
"I'm surrounded by idiots."
\"SKREEONGK!\" -Godzilla
KingKaijuGojira,
My thoughts exactly.
"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self." - Ernest Hemingway.
The one I keep getting is how people seem to confuse him with King Kong. I realize that not everyone is as well versed in monster movies as you or I, but really? I've never heard of anyone confusing Dracula with the Wolf Man.
Well TRICKKELLY, Godzilla's name in japenese is Gojira and that derives from the japenese words for gorilla and whale. So, I guess that's how they confuse Godzilla with King Kong. That or they need to go back to school.
\"SKREEONGK!\" -Godzilla
My friend already said to me that Chuck Norris could beat Godzila. WTF you dumb! Chuck Norris is a loser!
one time i was talking to a friend about godzilla vs. king ghidorah, and he said this, "king ghidorah? i thought it was king kong"
N-no... Just no. Someone who doesn't know who Godzilla is is not going to know what his Japanese name is derived from and then make a mistake based on that. That is virginity armor level protection knowledge that is known only within the fandom.
Holy crap, man. Did you even think that through before posting? Surely that's a joke post I refuse to think you typed that out with any other intention other than to ensnare people into making posts like this because WOW. You did an excellent job and I applaud you.
If not then, well. Allow me to recite that which has been used so much for the Sonic the Hedgehog and My Little Pony fandoms.
"Ughh this fandom."
The funniest response I've heard is actually from my mother (an ex-Marine); "I don't understand why the military always shoots at him. Didn't they learn from the first movie?"
someone completely unfamiliar with the kaiju genre mistaking king kong for godzilla is funny but not necessarily inconceivable. When they see arguably the most recognizable figure (godzilla) they automatically try to put it together with arguably the most recognizable name (king kong). i say arguably because both kong and G are interchagable as the most recognizable figure or name, especially in the united states. just my worthless two cents
