I'm reminded of a scene from Dino Crisis 2. In it this futuristic satellite (with a powerful blue beam) fires down on this mutated, mega sized Giganotosaurus and leaves nothing but a HUGE HOLE (in the following youtube link, skip to 5:05 and watch to 5:45)
