MemberMothra LarvaeApr-07-2014 9:44 AMHello everyone I'm here to talk about the things on Godzillas neck, now I'm new here so yeah but I have heard things about this site talking about gills or somethingwell for 1 if you look at Godzillas muscle diagram you can clearly see there are no slits cause if those werekills they would go straight into the neck cause thats what gills do andhearth would of announced that by now and someone said Godzilla is anamphibian, that's not true because just because he's amphibious doesn't mean he's an amphibian because hipppotamus are amphibious and someone said that he does have gills well how do you know have youmseen the movie no you haven't your just assuming and Garth even said how the movie is realistic he said that the movie is realistic in a force of nature and a world wide reaction type of way now those thingson thefront of his neck are scales but the ones on the sides of his neck are scalnow and if they were gills you would see the red Gill arches but see Garth would of said they were gills if they were because we have see the flaps on his neck and Garth would tell us ithere's we're but there just flaps of skin and scales there not a big thing if you know what I mean, and they way Godzillas breaths under water is because see Godzilla breaths oxygen when he's in space and under the sea and obviously when he's on land because his lungs are not like any humans or animals and his lung capacity isbeyond humans. Now someone said on here Godzilla could be real and everybody bashed down on him and you shouldn't bash down on someone's beliefs unless you have a really good reason to do so and a lot of people on this site are kinda jerks just saying and by the way I heard to be carful cause some of the jerky people on here close your discussions now I can se the somediscussions are just silly and pointess but not all of them are .
Have a good day :-)

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-07-2014 3:39 PMNo I was saying Godzillas lungs have thecapacity of no humans andtrudge Godzillas a giant atomic dinosaur the king of Kaiju not a shark and lets just wait and see what they are in movie ok because until then we don't know what they exactly are

MemberTitanosaurusApr-07-2014 3:45 PMJust come up with your own theory to explain the preence. Simple. I've been doing that for every single iteration of giant monster I've seen, coming up with my own unique explanations for every little thing, even though I may not possess the scientific background to support these statements exactly. Besides, it's fun to do that! As for my input on the presence of gills at all:
The gills are a vestigial feature that evolved early on in his species, obviously for the purposes of breathing underwater, whilst still maintaining the ability to go about on land. However, as they grew from the excess of natural radiation, they would outgrow their normal organic needs like food, water, and oxygen due to the newly created nuclear organ system of the species.
Now, the gills only serve as a means to filter out specific gases in liquid environments for non-essential bodily processes, possibly including gases to be ionized by the core nuclear organ system for use as a projected stream of high-intensity plasma from the mouth. They may also act as thermal vents for said process.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-07-2014 10:24 PMIt's no assumption.
They are gills.
It's plain for you to see every time you get a clear shot of Godzilla. After all, to breath underwater, he has to have them.
Not a single creature in the history of the world has been capable of respirating underwater without the use of gills. Anyone who says that dinosaurs could do it is an idiot who has obviously never studied dinosaurs nor animal biology in any way, shape or form.
In order to breath underwater, he must have gills. It's a law of nature that even Godzilla can't ignore. If he didn't have gills, he'd drown. Simple as that. This is non negotiable and undeniable. And it fits the whole "realistic" thing Gareth is going for and it doesn't really detract from Godzilla anyway.
They are gills dude. Just accept it already. It's no assumption, it's a fact.

Marvelgoji
MemberMothra LarvaeApr-08-2014 3:30 AMFor 1 don't you ever compare Godzilla to the laws of nature because he Has neve followed them before for 2 he said in an interview how the movie is going to be realistic for 2 in a tohokingdom interview the interviewer mentions the flaps of skin and for 3 you don't even know what they are for 4 you haVent even seen the movie you person
Now I know why people told me not to use this site because People act like they have seen the movie and someone said it has been confirmed Godzilla has gills I smell bullshit because I keep up with everything and just because Gareth is making the movie realistic doesn't mean Godzilla has to have gills because Garth already said how the movie will be realistic and actually it's not a fact that he has gills because you don't know what those things are nobody does but the interviewr in tohokingdom mentioned then flaps of skin

Marvelgoji
MemberMothra LarvaeApr-08-2014 3:36 AMAnd just because there or overlapping things on his neck doesn't automaicly make them gills
I mean the famous rob said in a video that some of the things people say on this site tha not official is bullshit unless it's official
Now the whole gill thing is your assumption :)

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-08-2014 6:18 AMSigh sigh sighity sigh sigh.
Nope, they are just random flaps that are discolored on the side of his neck. Has nothing to do with the fact that he is an amphibious creature that lives under water most the time.
They're gills people, deal with it. There is like zero percent weakness in being able to breathe on land and in the water.
I thought this fricken conversation was OVER with a long time ago.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-08-2014 8:06 AMThey are gills, and the fact that people still continue to deny that is just sad.
Life is very simple, but we insist on making it complicated.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-08-2014 8:54 AMWhat if your wrong and there not gills because you don't know what they are because the only way you can know what they are is if Garth told us and if we saw the movie so yeah if I'm wrong I'm wrong if I'm right I'm right if your wrong your wrong if your right your right we honestly don't know what they are but Garth said that he would keep some classic things but he would look different but with some classic things and he told us if you would watch the interviews how the movie will be realistic and. By looking at the figures and the game and the trailers there the same color as his skin and look completely attached so there's now room for any gill slits because they look like there completely attached to the skin just saying but hey we won't know until we see the movie or if Gareth tells us what they are

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-08-2014 10:46 AM@ Marvelgoji: What part of the word "PUNCTUATION" is not being understood? Periods, commas...I'm sure you've heard of these, right?
AFA the "Gills Controversy": what possible difference does it make? If they're gills, fine. If they're not gills, fine.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-10-2014 5:22 PMI guess everyone completely missed my previous post, because they're still making the same tired arguments that I already debunked over and over again. I'm going to reiterate my points and hope it's not invisible this time:
1.) Having gills does not make Godzilla more realistic. Respiration is a chemical reaction which converts food into a form of energy that the body can use, and requires oxygen as a catalyst. However, since Godzilla's stomach is a nuclear reactor that produces its own energy (or at least, he feeds on radiation instead of "food" in the traditional sense), he has no need for respiration, and therefore, no need for any method of taking in oxygen.
2.) Needing oxygen to survive is a huge weakness, since it would allow even a WWI-era military to kill him with simple toxic gas.
Now, this doesn't necessarily mean that the things on the new Godzilla's neck aren't gills- they could be vestigial organs (like the tiny stubs of hind legs whales have that are left over from their terrestrial ancestors), or the creators of the film could have overlooked the above points and given him this huge, glaring, pointless weakness anyways. Like Marvelgoji has been saying, we won't really know until the film is released or Gareth Edwards says something about it.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-13-2014 6:32 PMIf Gareth is going for a more realistic approach it makes sense that he would have gills I mean how would he stay underwater for so long at a time. In fact the Godzillasaurus stayed underwater millions of years at a time for hibernation and to survive the extinction of the dinosaurs.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-13-2014 7:01 PMHahaha wow I cant believe that some people actually dont think those are gills, well lets take a look at some real gills first:
And heres Godzillas:
Hmmm I wonder what else could be on the side of an organisms neck that are openings that happen to CLEARLY LOOK LIKE GILLS???

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-13-2014 7:05 PMSome people are really getting attitudes in this thread.
We don't know if they're gills or thick hide or what. Wait for Gareth Edwards to say something about it.

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-18-2014 5:31 PMMakes a post explaining why giving Godzilla gills doesn't make him more realistic.
Very next post says giving Godzilla gills makes him more realistic.
