Dude, that Orga is amazing.
You should try GMK Godzilla or FW Godzilla sometime.
"I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."
Thanks man. I like to think that eventually I'll recreate every Toho and Daiei monster there is, every version, and then move into the myriad kaiju series' as well. I may need to live to be 150, but I'll do it!

DopePope, might I ask how much a commission from you would be for a head, bust aand full body Kaiju would be? I'm interested in possibly commissioning you, as this is truly phenomenal work!

dopepope, those are amazing! I have an issue with my stuff, I now have my model shaped but with very uneven polygons, so like part of the mouth doesnt have enough polygons so its not smooth.
example: you can see his lower part and various parts of the face have that weird polygon stretch to it because the polygons arent evened
I can dynamesh but that ruins alot of the detail i worked on. How do I rework the polygons so that they are evened out? I'm already at a high level poly count, I know this is a noob mistake but seeing your models I can see how more professional you are at making your models.
Also another issue I have, I have the head and body seperated into 2 subtools, but when i merge them they still ahve this line in between them, tehre is no "merging" together of the two, the creas is always there, example:
how do I go about fixing this and making that little crease go away at the neck?
First Question: there's a few things you can do. First is add more resolution to dynamesh, then click it. There's a slider with a number on it. If you haven't been using it, it's default setting is 128. If you have divided the model already, then yes, you'll lose detail. unless you slide the dynamesh up to a really high tripple digit #, which isn't recomended. but if you're still working in default dynamesh, then slide it up to 256 or something. then click it. If you did divide the model, then you can try zRemesher. Duplicate the tool you want to zRemesh, then highlight that tool, then hit zRemesh. There are a few tweakers, so if you aren't happy with what you get, undo and adjust the tweakers to get different results. zRemeshing a really high poly subtool will take a long time tho, and could crash zBrush a lot. so be ready for that. save often. Definitely look up zRemesher on the pixologic site. I know for a fact it can add resolution to the entire subtool, or just certain areas, and decrease it where it's not needed as much. It's amazingly useful, but I'm not that familiar with it beyond that. I need to learn more about it. Def look into it tho.
Second Question: When you merge down, or merge all, all that happens is that you get those tools to become one, but all the geometry is still there of both, or all. To get rid of it, you have to dynamesh, or zRemesh.

You may have to face defeat on this one if none of these options work tho. Chalk it up to a learning experience and try again. Start again and concentrate on building the head and neck form again but at a very low resolution dynamesh, like 72. it will be more blocky as you sculpt, but by the time you get the primary overall shapes in place, you'll be able to add more resolution and it won't be way too big. Always work in lowest resolution for as long as you can until you devide. Trying to make huge form changes after dividing is often more trouble than it's worth.

thanks dopepope! awesome tips! i'll see what I can do with it. But for real it's good to hear from an expert, your models are amazing!
I appreciate that. But I'm by no means an expert. Just a zBrush enthusiast trying to learn as much as I can, just like you guys. I'm just a little further along. Happy to answer questions if I can.

@Dopepope, can you do a Garasharp model. If you don't know what that Kaiju is, it is a giant snake creature that was planned to star in the film, Gamera vs Garasharp. Sadly, it was never made
I'm aware of Garasharp. I agree, I'd like to have seen that movie! I'm too booked up with paid commissions to do anything free, however, You can officially commission me for that if you'd like. Private message me if you are interested. I'd get started immediately.

Thanks Chris, tho, I 'm starting to think the bottom jaw doesn't split like I have it. I guess, I'll have to see the movie and do a new one. : )
