AdminSpaceGodzillaApr-28-2013 7:54 PMThere is a lot of talk going on that [i]Legendary[/i] is planning to mimic their success with the Batman / Dark Knight trilogy with [b]Godzilla 2014[/b], which is expected, since both are huge franchises with massive marquee value.
So, I want to know, do you think [b]Godzilla 2014[/b] should end, leading into an eventual sequel? Like maybe at the end of the credits show a new Monster emerging? Or perhaps an Alien Monster inbound to Earth? Let everyone know what you think by posting your thoughts below!

Personally, I think [b]Godzilla 2014[/b] not only [i]should[/i] but, [b]will[/b] end with a cliffhanger leading into a sequel. [i]Legendary[/i] has no reason not to pursue this franchise as deep as they can. The only determining factor really is the licensing agreements between them and [i]TOHO[/i], the original license holders for the entire [b]Godzilla[/b] franchise. But I expect all these logistics have already been worked out behind the scenes.

(talking about number of movies) Besides, I've loved Godzilla as long as I can remember. I was thrilled when the '98 Godzilla came out and deeply saddened when it was a disappointment. You can't imagine my excitement for this movie! Gareth! Don't disappoint me!

I could see something appearing while the end credits are rolling but not sure about a cliffhanger. On the subject of cliffhangers - one of the greatest has to be in Gamera: Revenge of Irys whereby the movie ends with an army of Gyaos headed for Japan and an injured Gamera probably on his way to face them.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-08-2013 2:28 PMThey are not trying to make a version like the 54 so I think that they will have a mid credits or post credits scene that sets it up for the next movie. I think that they only think that only thing they are trying to mimic is the dark tone of the 54 version. Can't wait till 2014

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-09-2013 7:27 PMYeah, Godzilla's death in 54 was to make the audience appreciate the fact of how powerful he was, and that a nuclear deterrent needed to be used against him just to kill him. Seeing him overpower and destroy a monster as powerful as a nuclear deterrent would accomplish the same thing. But an evil counterpart sequel (MG) or an arch nemesis sequel (KG) would be sick in the far off future.
